For all the Jamaican filers Jamaica's us embassy has again cancelled interviews due to Covid numbers increasing. I got this message today

Due to the significant changes in the COVID-19 caseloads in Jamaica, the Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston will reduce consular services effective September 8.  Emergency American Citizen Services and limited visa services will continue.  The Consular Section will not be closed, although services will be significantly reduced.  For applicants who had appointments scheduled from September 8 onward, those appointments will be cancelled, and we will be in contact with you once we are able to reschedule your interview.

The Embassy will continue to assess the situation in the days ahead and will work on plans to resume a broader range of consular services in a manner that is safe for staff and the public, when circumstances warrant.

We regret any inconvenience that this change in our operational posture may cause.  For specific questions concerning consular services at this time, please direct your inquiries as follows:

Thanks for the update. It definitely sucks to be on hold yet again. I pray this turns around soon for everyone.

So we received our NOA2 in Feb and our case has been sitting in Montreal since mid March.

I filled out and submitted the DS-160 thinking we'd have an interview around May but then, ya know, COVID happened.

Here's my question (tagging @Greenbaum because he's been a massive help so far, but others please chime in as well): my fiance and I have been separated for 6 months. We postponed our original wedding day in October. He's flying from Canada to the US in October for 2 weeks so we can spend some time together.

I've already submitted the DS-160 listing his visits...so do I submit a new one with this visit? Do I just have him explain it at the interview?

Just update the CO at the interview.

Gees, this is what i've been worrying about.  Was hoping K1's would start in July/Aug since I figured Sept/Oct Covid numbers would go up again.  We still haven't seen any interviews opening up in Seoul.  And no real response with any info on when they will start K1 interviews at all.  :(

Go directly to your embassy's webpage to keep checking for information regarding operating status and any further updates. When new appointment dates are available for booking, they will display through your appointment calendar within your Visa Appointment Service account at https://www.ustraveldocs.com. Please ensure that you monitor the email address that you used to register with the Visa Appointment Service, including the junk or spam folder, as that is how you will be contacted if it is necessary for your future appointment to be postponed.

Also, DOS has issued a memorandum that K-1 Visas are now a high priority.

Check to see if your embassy is processing visas and which ones. If your results return 999 that indicates that they are still not processing that visa type. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks, do you know if Embassies would schedule based on when they received our case from NVC, or when we filled out DS-160, or when we paid the fee?  Or it depends on the Embassy?

Sorry if this is asked all the time, but i saw your response and i was here, so...

About 95% of the embassies put the interview scheduling responsibility on the beneficiary. That scheduling information would be in the P3 letter that is sent to the beneficiary once the case filed arrives at the embassy and your CEAC status shows "ready".  Visit your embassy's website for further details.

Yeah, that's how it has been in the past for Seoul.  So I guess it'll be a free-for-all of backlogged folks trying to schedule once it opens up.  Was hoping they may try to prioritize some of us that have been waiting the longest.  I guess nobody really knows until they tell us something directly.  I guess all we can do is sit and wait.  Thanks.

Read over the links I list below and your question should be answered.

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

Hi guys, sorry to bother you, I am confused about the affidavit  of support I -134 for k1 visa interview. I thought we need to provide it at the time of the interview but I am reading on  uscis web site that "you should submit an affidavit of support at the time that your fiancé adjusts status to permanent resident after coming to the USA". I do apologize if this subject was discussed previously. Thank you

Double check what you were reading. It might be pertaining to a spouse visa not K1 but again i might be wrong

Thank you! Do you know if we have a joint sponsor that signs the papers now but the interview is in like 3 months, will the Embassy still accept it? We are going to see the person soon, so I was thinking to ask them to sign now and save some money on the mailing. Do I have to bring the forms in original at the interview or copy of I 134 is enough?

Copies of everything will satisfy the CO. You can scan the documents and email to the beneficiary for printing in their country. There is no requirement for aging of the documents apart from bank statements and pay stubs/statements should be current to the interview.
