Hey guys, have you heard the news about the extension of the cancellation of non immigrants through August 28? Some says that the K1 visa is under Non immigrant and the other says it's under of the Immigrant --- because it's one of the form of Immigration. What do you think guys?

Hi, can you share where you read this info?

with everyone here on pins and needles to hear any news about the K1 interviews and their schedules for interviews it’s important to cite news with valid links or sources

thanks

What happens to P'pines embassy may not happen to others. It varies from embassy to embassy depending on LOCAL conditions. The best thing is to check with your own embassy to get accurate information.

Haha, how about this, it's neither one? LOL

It is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent, processed like one too. Hybrid. Special. Different. Best of the both worlds and therefore, our visa class has never been more ambiguous especially during this period.

Each embassy is different. Your information is reflective of what is happening at USEM Philippines and not the other embassy. Caution must be exercised here to ensure you are not promulgated the inaccurate information to others who will interrupt this information to be valid to their embassy. I recommend that something like what you are advocating should be in the sub-forum for the Philippines.

Your correct in asking that links be posted when vital information is disseminated.

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links (what you received in the email) will send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 and DS-260 even though it truly is a non-immigrant visa requiring I-134 and the DS-160. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

Hi @Greenbaum ! I have a question, I did not realize it until now but our approval notice from USCIS expired on 6/24/2020. How do we get an extension/renewal? Our case is not at the embassy but still stuck at NVC. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

A fiancé visa must be issued within four months from the date of approval of the fiancé petition by USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). If your appointment is later then the validity date, bring a signed and dated letter from your U.S. fiancé(e) stating that you both remain legally free to marry and that you intend to get married within 90 days of your arrival. E-mail or copies are acceptable.

9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition
(CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)

An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States.

3 weeks 🥴 we've yet to do the medical, working on getting that done tomorrow or friday. Strange because the office is telling him to do his vaccinations elsewhere and then come back to them.

Strange that they tell you to do vaccinations as they are not legally needed until AOS. But super congrats!

No. Regular interview for k1 visa. We'll just do it as it'll be cheaper over there anyway instead of in the states. We're trying to figure out how to get the police report online.

Follow this link and scroll down the page to Police Certificates and it will explain the different ways of attaining a PC from Chile.
