Thank you for sending the link!

They said specifically that they are NOT processing K1s right now - crushing!!

Nothing new.  They will open and process backlogged CR-1's that should be first as they have established a marriage. Then they'll move onto K-1 cases already at the embassy.  After that they will instruct NVC to send the case assigned files to them and begin opening the scheduling function. That's my opinion.

Where does it say that CR-1s "should be first" or prioritized before K1?

I understand that my preference and long absence from my loved one (10 months now!) isn't taken into consideration, but we are all equal in following all the protocols  for these processes and should be given equal priority since we have been given the choice of pathways.  One is not more important than the other - which is what you seem to be saying.

Except that they're already married and K1s aren't. There's a difference because of that. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Read my last sentence then you'll be informed. I know you want this to end where you are together. I get that. You need to emotionally step away and view this with "the big picture" taken into consideration. I look at things in realty.

I definitely want to get it all over with.  We will try to meet in Mexico soon for a while to wait it out.  But part of me wants to just get married now and go that route since they are planning the CR1 visa interviews already.  Who knows when K1 will begin again.  But then I think a vaccine will be here before the new year and it could take that long for the CR1 process, too.  :(

Just going to try and wait it out for now.  Hang in there everyone.

Because worst case scenario we have to wait for that.  And that is still faster than going through the CR1 process.  So as I said, we will just wait.

Dear @Greenbaum Please what should we fill in that no 38, after ticking the "intend" box, how do we "indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions you intend to make" part?

@Treasure1

In the new revised  I-134 form dated 2/28/2021 - Question #38 now regards contributions.  You leave the yes/no boxes "unchecked" and your explanation is submitted in Part 7 on page 8 of the new form.

You will do this:

3.a. "Page 4"

3.b. "Part Number 3"

3.c. "Item Number 38"

3.d. "N/A (K1 Visa Process For Permanent Residence)"

@Greenbaum I'm not sure if this exact topic has been covered before but my Ukrainian fiance and I are very confused on where our actual physical file is currently.

- NVC Case # Assigned: March 6, 2020

- Status: "In Transit": March 31, 2020 (letter also received dated March 31, 2020 that the case left NVC)

- Status: "Ready": April 13, 2020

Our 4 month validity was set to expire on June 23, 2020.  When I contacted the US Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, I was told the extension was granted, but that they have not received my paper file.  They also told me to contact NVC.

Upon contacting NVC, the agent assured me that the case left NVC on March 31, 2020.  I keep getting bounced back and forth between NVC and the Embassy when I ask to locate the paper file.

Do you have any idea where it might actually be?  I read through your tips and tricks and you mentioned that there can be two "Ready" conditions.  How do I tell which Ready condition I'm looking at on the CEAC site?  Is it possible that the current status shows "Ready" only because the electronic file has been received?  How would I know when "Ready" means the paper file has been received?

I appreciate any help because we're beginning to think the paper file is actually lost since nobody can tell me where it is. 🙁

At that time they will touch your record and you will see your CEAC status change to ready.

Do you have any idea where it might actually be?  See above

I read through your tips and tricks and you mentioned that there can be two "Ready" conditions.  How do I tell which Ready condition I'm looking at on the CEAC site?  In the PDF it states that you must be watching CEAC and noting the dates each time you check. When you see them change twice typically it means your file will be set to ready shortly. Normally within 23-48 hours.

Is it possible that the current status shows "Ready" only because the electronic file has been received?  That would be my guess along with the fact that they file is in the embassy waiting for further action once the embassy staff has returned.

How would I know when "Ready" means the paper file has been received? information. There is no way to know, that's why we have these little signs of what is taking place because the embassy keeps this information close to the vest.

I appreciate any help because we're beginning to think the paper file is actually lost since nobody can tell me where it is. 🙁 I think your file is sitting at the embassy because CEAC showed "in transit" and a "ready" condition. Patience is needed.

The system is ripe with inconsistently and ambiguity. Let see if I can give you a little more information but I can't say for certainty if this is your experience but see my answers in BOLD above.
