Just realised I posted this in in the wrong thread oh my gosh. I also received my NVC letter yesterday! I don't need the answer anymore but just updating you guys that my status finally changed. :)

My status finally updated to READY at the Sydney consulate! I am stoked. I am going to pay the fee for K1 and K2 now and see where that leaves me. I wonder if they will give me an interview date and when it will be. I think going ahead is the right thing to do right now. I did my DS-160s about a month ago, but nothing has changed so they should still be ok, right?

@Cilllah Congrats!!! I am so happy for you! Mine is still in transit, for 24 days now. Sorry Cilllah, remind me again how long in total was yours in transit and your shipment was the same as mine on 31 Mar right?

@Cilllah Was that via email or snail mail?  I am only asking because our status changed to ready on Monday night and we haven't received anything.  The embassy has granted an expedited interview as soon as they receive the physical copy but, we haven't heard anything else since.  Thx in advance.

It was just an email. No snail mail yet!

Anyone had any issues paying the fee on US travel docs website? It keeps going around in circles. I choose payment method and it gives me the the important note on visa fees and then back to payment method and so on and so forth. Driving me crazy

Nevermind. It suddenly worked on the 30th attempt. Ugh!

@Greenbaum Just out of curiosity, have you ever heard or encountered anyone who mentions their case 'got lost' in the mail? Also, do you have any idea when they forward the cases, do they bundle them up and send it via parent organisation?

Yes, I have heard that visa packets sometimes are "lost" but most going to USCIS and once in USCIS going to NVC. It does happen but rarely. I mean rarely. Of course, going to USCIS that's more a courier problem then USCIS but from USCIS to NVC it does happen. I'm not a hundred percent sure how they ship from USCIS to NVC but NVC to the embassy I talk about that in my PDF their shipping process. To the embassies there hasn't been much of a problem.

@Greenbaum Unfortunately, we have been 'in transit' for 24 days now (NVC to embassy) and we escalated the issue to the supervisor at NVC. And we found out that the case is still in the country (but out of NVC) and they have no idea where it is. All they know is it hasn't left the US. It is not reflecting in their tracking system. But in ceac is still shows 'in transit'. The embassy also told us that it is not with them (we escalated to find out where it is). No one has any idea where it is. Fearing for the worst as we may have to prepare the documents all over again? This is a mess and stressful.

They have an electronic copy of everything. Don't think that they can't do something without a paper copy of the file for an interview at the embassy. Stay engaged and always talk to a tier two or a supervisor. Don't give up.

Considering that they've suspended all routine visa processing in the countries that are under the Schengen (and others) travel ban, should there just be one thread, as everyone's application just gets to the embassy and sits there until the end of that ban?

It's going to be a race to get your paperwork and interview in order in a couple of months, assuming that it's even just a few months. I'm assuming that they don't every airline to go under, so at least there's that.

@Greenbaum We are trying to keep it together. It is frustrating and breaking to learn that they have no idea where it is and why it is not forwarded out and knowing that they have no idea, doesn't help. Do you think this is a good reason to seek to expedite? It is not our fault and the embassy doesn't seem to go out of the box to approach this. Have you heard or encounter anyone who had this issue from NVC to embassy and went ahead without hard copy?

Have the dates change when you view CEAC status or has it always been Mar 31?

@Greenbaum Yes, done everything. I called and found out that there was a shipment delivered to the destination on specified date more than 2 weeks now. The call works as far as this could go. Not sure this is DHL issue or NVC but it did not show up on NVC tracking system. Our packet just 'disappeared' from NVC tracking system despite showing 'in transit'.
