I think they are making that change so they can start with the "first in first out" path. Otherwise it would be a rush to schedule and someone who just got approved is first in line for an interview when you have waited for four months on COVID-19 to subside. I think they are trying to put some fairness back into the process. I like that they are forward thinking. Be strong. This soon will pass.

Thank you so much. It's hard enough with everything that's going on. Thanks for your words of encouragement. You are truly appreciated!

Greenbaum, do you have a P3 for Australia that you could post?  I wasn't sure if things had changed since the public charge requirements went into effect in Feb.  I was holding off for the welcome letter but, since it's going to be "in transit" for the foreseeable future I thought would could verify we do have everything in the meantime.  Thank you in advance!

Read over this information and follow the instructions:

Embassy website

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/146-australia-and-new-zealand/

Last go to the top of this page and under the tab "portals" on the blue ribbon choose it and then search for your country. Lots of information there.

When executing your AFP be sure you use "You would choose the Commonwealth employment/Purpose for your Purpose Type and then Code 33 for Immigration/Citizenship as your Purpose of Check."

Also, there is a recent write up of someone's medical experience here:

Vaccinations are not included in the medical fee and if you get them from the medical exam it's been reported that they are expensive. Shop around for best pricing on vaccinations in your area and if you complete the vaccinations be sure to get a receipt or document that indicates which were administered. You'll need that for the medical exam.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

CEAC says ready. Last date that it was updated was yesterday. Does this mean that I can expect a packet in the mail soon?

The embassies are closed. I really doubt you will get anything from them till the open back up for business.

They've still responded to my emails last week. I thought they were closed for in-person interviews.

We've decided to wait with the document-gathering until they reopen. Our affidavit of support is ready, but it's probably going to be pretty hard to get a hold of the rest of the stuff now that people are working from home.

If, by some chance, they still send me the packet before they reopen, I'll start with those too, but there's no point getting a police report that expires if it takes another year for things to open up again. Same with the fee. I'll pay once I know they're open again, it just seems like a potential waste of money if we can't actually schedule an interview yet.

I already have my two police certificates as I got them before this but we too are holding off on the rest because there's no point right now. I did our DS-160's and wonder if I will have to do more recent ones later. Didn't pay the fee though.

so we were in transit last week and checked status this week for UK embassy and it has changed to "Ready". Under normal circumstances this would be great news on the the face of it, however in these times while it is still amazing news that they are still pushing things ahead it raises more questions. We already completed the medical ahead of the NVC letter (for future refrence I would not reccommend anyone who is a worrier doing that as it took a month to get our letter wth the LND number for the Knightsbeidge to forward to the embassy) and we have completed our DS-160 as well.  We have all the requred documents (police certificate, passport photos ,tax transcripts, W-2's, I-134, DS-5540, medical receipt, birth certs, passport etc ad nauseum). When I go to the site to set the interview and pay the fee there is a very stern warning on there that basically states not to proceed with scheduling an interview unless you have a letter or email from the NVC or the Embassy. I have a letter from the NVC with our LND number on it, would that count as THE letter the site is referencing? Also I am fully aware that the embassy is closed and there are no flights that we would be able to take even if we had a visa in hand becasue of the travel ban, I am a "cart before the horse" kind of gal when it comes to preparing for very important things. Also Also, our police certficate has a 6 month expiry, since all of our paperwork has been pushed through as "acceptable" there is a very good chance that we will not have an interview by May (expiration) would we need to have a new one for an interview or would the one included from the medical still stand as the medical does not expire until September?  Sorr for the long winded questioning, like everyone else I am anxious and searching blindly for answers in the dark.  Thanks to you all!!

1. No that is not the "letter" that you will need. The letter from NVC is to an immigrant visa applicant stating they have an appointment for an interview. You, as a non-immigrant fall into the newly created category of "we will get to you when we can; probably not till after the pandemic has left the building" crowd. So, you must remain patient until the embassy is open, and you have been instructed on how to proceed.

2. According to the US Embassy UK website it states the following:

If you have resided in the United Kingdom for 6 months or more since the age of 16, you are required to obtain a police certificate from the ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO).  Further information is available from their website at www.acro.police.uk.

Note: UK police certificates are valid for 12 months only.  Failure to present all necessary and valid police certificates at the time of the interview will incur significant delays to your application.

DS-160 does not expire so no need to worry about it unless information has changed since you completed the current DS-160.  Most embassies, unless stated either on their website instructions or the P3 letter, that PC's are valid for 6 months. I wouldn't pay any fees yet. Good luck.
