Mine states in transit but thanks to Greenbaum and dhl hack, I was able to see it arrived at the embassy on Monday, and was signed for.

The DHL hack doesn't work for me, but I did receive the email from NVC saying mine was shipped so. I guess more waiting until the embassies are running.

Realistically, not all embassies will open at the same time. Those less affected by COVID-19 will begin to return sooner then others.

We are still early on in this process. You couldn't move your file faster before 19 and you certainly will not move it faster after. Tying up the embassy with your emails and phones calls is just a fool-hearted attempt. Keep busy. Put this off your desk. Call a friend on the phone and see how they are doing. Call family and do the same with them.

People, start being realistic. This is something that no one has ever experienced. It's not about you it's about us, we, them, those guys and everyone else.

Ok. I'm done.

Greenbaum,

Always filled with great advice.

I agree with your sentiment Sir.   While I lament that my fiance is not able to join me in the US as soon as we would have liked, she is safe and sound for the moment and is not having to deal with the craziness that jumping on a plane would bring on.

We are using this time to work on the evidence of a continued relationship (photos, plane tickets, hotel stays), but we are also using it to take a much needed break from the rat race that is our daily grind.  I started working on home projects that I had put off a while, also using it to refocus on healthy living.

So yes, it is unfortunate that this will delay our case for a few weeks, maybe a few months... so be it..

We will take the time to reflect and plan on a happy future together.

Thank you Sir for being the beacon of wisdom.

Stay safe all.

I mean, wouldn't this also apply to calling or emailing the NVC, as instructed in the PDF? 😛

The PDF was written during non-pandemic conditions. As conditions change, just like in battle, you must reevaluate your approach and expectations to match the current conditions.

I tried to email NVC , they don't response. Until now, I still don't have my embassy case number here in my country.

Even if you had your case number there is nothing you can do in your country. Your entire country is shut down. No one is allowed on the streets. No food is being distributed per-say. Nada, zip, zero. A NVC number is not going to really matter till things return to some sort of normalcy.

Like I said many times, these are times that are different and you will have to wait it out. Stop looking for responses from governmental agency's. They are not fully staff to handle processing and answering calls as they had pre-pandemic.

I don't know if this information will be useful to any of you but my child is a US citizen and since they are repatriating all US citizens and their non-US family members from Belize , I am being given an Emergency Visa to accompany my child to the US. So if any of you have a child who is a US citizen you may want to look into this as an option. Just reach out to your local US Embassy.  Our Embassy  wasn't processing visas but since this is an Emergency situation they made an exception.

So, I just spoke with NVC and in their non-committal kind of way they wouldn't give me a true update on if the case is ready to ship only that it's usually a month.  I did ask if they were still shipping at this time and he checked the Sydney embassy and said that he had no indications otherwise.  Based on my Greenbaum research, I got a case number on 3/11 and am hoping for a shipping notice tomorrow if they indeed do ship?  I of course realize it means that things are just holding somewhere else but, a little positive movement would be a nice bright spot.  It will be interesting to see if anything actually ships tomorrow.  If not, no harm just keep waiting as anticipated.

Even if it does just note that it will remain in transit until Sydney opens again. That is where I am currently at!

Will the unemployment benefit affect the petition? My fiance got laid off today because of the covid.

Unemployment insurance is not a public benefit.  It is insurance paid by the employer......It will not affect your petition.
