Hey guys,

It seems like the packet are forwarded to the embassies electronically. 2 members of a facebook group page confirmed their status standing from transit to ready within 2 days? Anyone else here could verify that?

@Greenbaum maybe something you would be interested to dive deeper!

We were also surprised when we cheeked this morning and it has gone from "IN TRANSIT" to "READY"  this morning.   And we got "IN TRANSIT" just 2 days ago

@Ryceryce can you send me the facebook group, i would like to join.

We'll dive deeper together.

Here is what is happening. You have two packets; one is the electronic form and the others is the paper form. When NVC sends your file to your embassy they send both a electronic and the paper. Electronic arrives first and the paper arrives based on the shipping schedule at NVC. Which now is every other week. If you follow CEAC you will see two ready conditions. One for each means of transportation of your files. The ready does not change but the date will change. It's the second change that you see which gives you a clear light to proceed based on the embassy instructions and or their P3.

This is one of the things that I hate about FB groups. Members there that are mostly newbies and no veterans to ascertain if the information is correct or just hearsay. With VJ, you have a whole host of "boots on the ground" that can help. Prime example is you came here to get clarification from experts. Now I need to come up for air.

Really, you want to join a FB group. See my post above and you'll see that might not be the best choice. Again, just my opinion.

You are ABSOLUTELY right.

I don't want to be guided by the blind. This website and YOU in particular have helped us tremendously, there is no reason for me to go anywhere else in search for info.
I will wait patiently for our visa application to proceed and keep an eye out for any more info shared on this site.

Have a great day guys

@FU-MY I totally agree, we are better off here than in a FB group.

@Greenbaum I have a question on our NOA2 approval notice there's a valid from date from Feb to June.

1) What does that date mean exactly?

2) If that date passes and we don't get an interview because of the coronavirus, would that be an issue?

Q1 It's a date that is set to entice you to be diligent in your pursuit of a visa. If you were to willy nilly decide when you want to interview and lets say 10K others want the same date as you I seriously doubt the embassy would be able to accommodate that onslot of ppl. So they give you a expiration date when truly the NOA2 is good for one year but with embassy approval for extensions.

Q2 Normally you would contact the embassy. I am positive that there will be instructions on how they will work through this back log of cases. No one knows at this time so sit back and relax and wait for further instructions. Best place to be in the know is your embassy's website.

Yes, I'm seeing this, too.  They said to check the local embassy website for specific details on each location.  I don't see anything for Moscow yet, but I'm sure there will be something soon.  Hoping it's only a few weeks delay.  Good luck to us all.

No way it will only be a few days for delay. If they have closed embassies without further notice it is potentially long haul, likey weeks but could be months.

It may or may not be the best place for info, but you would find people who are in the similar boat and you get to put the face to the name at least.

As published in the PDF Times, you will read that it takes about 30 days from the time you are notified from USCIS with your NOA2 to NVC. It takes NVC another 1-3 weeks to assign the case number. Once a case number is assigned, you fall into the shipping schedule, and that could be the following week or somewhere in the three-week window. NVC does not send notice until your case ships and is on it's way to the Embassy. You, any lawyer or anyone else can move your file any faster then the current conditions permit.

During these times, everything is slowing down. You have to understand that priorities are being set, and a yahoo mail is far down the list of "need to do." It's all hands on deck, to get what they have now with the limited staff to keep cases moving.

With the embassies closed down and no interview, what is the RUSH to get a case number? There is very little you can do with it. Sure, complete the DS-160, pay your fee, but that's where you BUCK$$ is going to stop. That's the end of the road.

So set back, stay busy, and, most of all, stay safe. Now I need to turn the page of the PDF Times and get caught back up on the comics section.

Correction: My post above had an error and so I will correct it here since I want to be more accurate.
