Hello Greenbaum. Thank you so much for this,  as well as for everything you do for us on this forum. You state that when checking our case on CEAC, we should check it under immigrant visa. When calling the NVC, should we use the number meant for immigrant Visa as well? Thank you.

You can use either number to call. Thank you for your accolades they are appreciated.

Anyone know if the NVC generally updates the status quickly after send to the Embassy?  Or does it sometimes take a few days to update the website?  I'm holding on to hope that they may have sent it and not updated the page yet (it is still listing as "At the NVC" despite being assigned a case number on 3/4).

Over the years I have found that NVC is pretty accurate with their information. They will not update your status if no update is warranted. Did you by chance try the DHL hack to see if a shipment went to your embassy this week. BTW since they were a day behind on their first shipment, there still is hope they are shipping today.

BTW thanks for completing your profile.

This is amazing! Thank you for helping everyone, including me. :)

My petition is currently at NVC. I am hoping it will make it out on the next shipment. I received my case number on 16th March. I am really hoping there's a Thursday shipment!

My mind has caused me to think all sorts of craziness because my case still says "At NVC".

We had forgotten to answer the question that asked if my fiance has kids, which he doesn't. Our case was still approved by USCIS without any RFE, but now I'm wondering if NVC has caught that mistake & will reject our case or issue an RFE

When NVC receives the approved I-129f from USCIS, They check to ensure that it’s been stamped. Occasionally NVC will receive a petition from USCIS and it does not have the appropriate approval stamp in the upper left-hand corner. NVC is also checking to make sure that the three criminal questions have been answered. NVC noted that there are times when the petitioner will forget to complete those questions and those questions are subsequently missed by the USCIS adjudicator.  In both of these instances, the case will then be sent back to USCIS. If one of these things occur NVC would know within the first week of receiving the case. USCIS will review your case and re-certify once everything is corrected. So, the answer is no the NVC does not issue RFE's but they will do what I outlined above. They do not re-adjudicate your case.

Your fine.

The PDF file shows the next shipment as March 31 so you have a little more of a wait.

I was hoping for this week as well, we got a case number on March 11th, being a Wednesday I figured it was questionable.  I would be happy with everything shipping on the 31st just to be sure we are at the embassy when things start to open up again.  Australia closed their borders at 9 PM local time Friday...now we wait just like everyone else.  Much FB instant messenger and long distance love letters to follow.  Our story will just be that much better.  Best wishes to all in this unprecedented time.

The US closed all embassies in countries with Level 2 travel warnings and higher for "routine non immigrant processing"so there will likely be delays for all of us. Our interview in Japan was canceled last night.

Greenbaum would you be able to share the link for the info graphic you posted?  Thx

I'm not sure what "graphic" you are referring to. I add a lot of graphics to get my point across that I am at a lost of which you are looking for. Let me know and if I can I will provide. Ahhh I think you meant the COVID-19 graphic.

Yes, I'm seeing this, too.  They said to check the local embassy website for specific details on each location.  I don't see anything for Moscow yet, but I'm sure there will be something soon.  Hoping it's only a few weeks delay.  Good luck to us all.

Still no change on our file on CEAC despite receiving our NVC number on 3/4.  I'm confused if NVC is still operating or what--I believe some others that received their NVC number after ours have had their application sent to the corresponding embassy.

Looks I'll be waiting another 2 weeks and hope it gets sent then

Somewhere in one of these threads I opined that some embassies have requested NVC to hold their cases untill they can get caught up. So not all embassies are receiving cases si they will sit at NVC until they get caught back up.
