Hi @Greenbaum, thanks for your help on the forum! I've been scouring online for a couple weeks now, and your posts are super helpful.

I got notice on Feb. 18 that our case was being sent from the NVC to the Amsterdam embassy. Our CEAC says 'Ready' as of March 2. However, it left the NVC almost 1 month ago and my fiance hasn't received any packet in the mail in the Netherlands. Are we missing a step and supposed to do something? We can't figure out if we are supposed to be taking action, or if all we can do is wait for that packet....  Either way, if you have that packet could you please send here?

Thank you, and if you have any additional tips for the NL That would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone,

My fiance received an e-mail from NVC today. It says it is on the way to U.S. Embassy in Ankara,Turkey and they provided our NVC case number in the e-mail. We never called them, we were thinking it was early to call but they contacted with usearlier than we expected.

I checked on NVC website and it says: Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

I am confused, i did not receive and interview date by NVC. In Turkey applicant book the interview appointment, consular does not do that and i heard before it says "ready" we can not have interview date. Why do they say my interview date was provided to me by the NVC?

Can someone help please?

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community that comes behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non-immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links (what you received in the email) will send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 and DS-260 even though it truly is a non-immigrant visa requiring I-134 and the DS-160. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant (ceac.state.gov/). It stays that way until after your interview and the approval and your visa is ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non-immigrant. It truly is a non-immigrant visa with immigrant intent.

So you do not follow those instructions and you are to schedule your own visa following the instructions from your embassy.

PPL if you doubt me then do your own homework and research. I provide you with the answer and most times a link to the authority. If I don't know I will tell you. I am not in the guessing game as this is to important to each one of you to screw it up for you. I am not that kind of individual. If you still doubt my knowledge I have over 30,000 post which normally are answers to your questions. If I was in the habit of giving bad information then after that many posts do you really think that VJ would allow me to continue? There, I am don't with my rant.

Here is the explanation on the two ready conditions for Canada. In reality you can start with preparations for Canada as soon as your file is on it's way. You are not allowed to schedule your interview for C but most embassies are different then C and allow their applicants to do the entire process themselves. C will do nothing till your record has been delivered (first ready) and then after they have checked your file into their system and that will be the second ready. You can only see the changes in the ready conditions if you pay close attention to CEAC.state.gov website where the dates will change. Once you see the second "ready" the first thing you do is get a copy of the P3 from someone and complete all the items there. Return them to the embassy and then the embassy will send you their P4 which is further instructions. Maybe their is a kind soul here that can help with that.

Please change your country in your profile to Canada and not Ireland. You are interview in Canada not Ireland and therefor it should match the country to which you will interviewing in. That gives those of us who pay attention to embassy specific answer to your question a better opportunity to serve you.

I hope this helps.

Thank you again so much @Greenbaum I am endlessly grateful for your help and experience! And yes I will change my country on my profile :)

Did you not join the FB group I linked you?

Like, SO MANY more people/posts can help with your questions - since they're all from Canada, and are doing it.

I would also like to say everything is emailed, but since you sent P3 in early, that could mess with it, cause normally P4 would come 1-2 business days after you send in P3 WHEN THEY'VE ASKED FOR IT.
