Does anyone have an idea here if form 1040 and w-2 be enough for the affidavit of support?  or does it really need to be a transcript?  will it lessen the chance of getting the visa approved if I only have these two (form 1040 and W-2) and not the tax transcript?

My anxiety really hitting the roof at this point . ughhhh

I can't believe you are now asking about this question. You have had access to the needed P3 and all the help needed in the PI forum which I gave you awhile back. It would have only taken 2-3 weeks to have a TT mailed to you if you were not able to download a copy from on line IRS website.

Well, here is the good news; most times USEM does not ask for financials. Haven't on a regular basis for 3-4 years now. But they have asked some individuals. We recommend that you be prepared just the same.

Make an effort to get the TT. It can be emailed to the beneficiary from the petitioner and printed locally for the interview. If you feel "Las Vegas Lucky" you could just send the 1040 and W-2 and roll the dice whether this will be acceptable when asked. If it isn't, they will issue you a 221(g) and your case will be delayed until you return the required documents.

BTW, you really need to be in the Philippines sub-forum where items like this are being discussed. I wouldn't leave my future in the hands of people, who are wrestling with what to do for their embassy. Each embassy is different so different procedures that's my reasoning for recommending you go to the PI sub-forum. All the best.

Sorry if I sound like I didn't read what you've given but I did many times.   What I want is just someone's experience and affirmation if they've been into something like this . (Just to calm myself down)

And bydwy,  we did request it ahead.Ahead than the time I received what you've given me.  It's just the agency who filed my fiance's tax last year didn't really work with it.  My fiance paid and the agency didn't file it.  If we haven't requested for the transcript we wouldn't even know about it. He also didn't receive any letter telling him it wasn't filed.

Again my apologies and thank you.

See what they say in the PI forum. When your in the forum ask this question of @Hank_ he'll most likely have the answer for what the "climate" is like at USEM for this type of question. If your interview is before this years tax deadline and you have not filed you can use 2018 TT. If after the tax deadline, they will be looking for current years taxes. Again, see Hank.

I'm sorry that you had problems with your tax consultant. In this day and age we just don't know what we are getting when we hire an "expert" who sometimes knows less then we do. I feel your pain.

Hey guys. I’m a little nervous and want to check something. When I called today and got my case number when I asked how long the email would take the man said that he doesn’t know as my case has entered AP but usually that doesn’t last very long.

i didn’t even know cases went into AP at NVC. Should I be worried? I’ve read other posts here and most say it’s extra scrutiny but others say all K1 go into AP during this time so I’m not sure whether to stress or not?

Any advice @Greenbaum? Is this normal?

Yes this is normal. "AP" is just another term used to say that your file is sitting till the next process will begin. Since your file is not leaving until shipping takes place next week your case is sitting there and it's in AP. Everyone experiences AP throughout this process. Relax. Everything is moving as is should.

You just received your case number so you'll be on the shipment in 3 weeks, unless of course your case number was assigned before last Wednesday. Check the PDF file for shipping dates.

Hi! I just read through this thread and many thanks to all who have participated and especially @Greenbaum for all of the useful info. I received NOA2 on 1/28 and tried calling NVC to see if my case number had been assigned but no one picked up (it was yesterday, Friday night around 11 pm EST so maybe they were done by then?). I will try again next week.

I didn't see a P3 posted for France. @Greenbaum do you have one by any chance?

Here you go.

https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/PRS-Paris.pdf

I think in your reading of the thread and the PDF you skimmed over this tidbit. We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

14. When can the DS-160 be completed?

The DS-160 is a document that stands alone. The DS-160 does not have a fee, and It does not
need to be completed now, but after you receive your case number, then you can schedule your
interview. This action must be verified with your P3 letter or others from your country. Most
embassies require the DS-160 confirmation number to complete the payment of the MRV
interview fee.

Let's break down what #14 states. The DS-160 does not have to be completed now but does need to be completed to schedule your interview BUT each embassy is different. Most embassies conform to the procedure that once you have your case number, you complete the DS-160 and then pay your interview fee, and after paying the fee schedule your interview. Others make you wait for the P3 and you follow their instructions that are contained in the letter.

Your embassy states that you just need to complete the DS-160 (which can be completed once you have your case number) and schedule the interview as well as the medical exam.

Okay, I think I got it. Actually I started the DS160. Another question: when they ask you to enter your National Identification Number, what should I put? In Italy we have a fiscal code, known as Codice Fiscale, which teh government gives you when you born.....can I put that one? I cannot find any clarification over this topic....

Yes, the Codice Fiscale would be your NIN for this form.
