NOA2: Feb. 10th.

Just called and got our case number. The number I called was 1-603-334-0888 and waited for less than 3 mins.

Yea, this is the number I've been calling as well. Have it saved to my phone. Lol

Because it's different procedures for each embassy and you have not completed your profile, it's hard for me to help you.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Hi Greenbaum...I've updated profile.  Thanks

Complete the DS-160 form ensuring that all the information is correct including spelling and then submit and print off two copies of the confirmation page. One for you and one for the embassy.

The next step is paying the interview fee and then scheduling the interview. I have little information but here is some items that will help you along.

I usually have a Packet 3 letter from your Embassy but I do not. But what I can do is list the basic items needed for the interview. When you get the P3 letter from your Embassy, could you scan a copy and attach it to a PM here on VJ. Thanks.

Completed Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. You (and any eligible children applying for K-2 visas) must: (1) complete Form DS-160 and (2) print the DS-160 confirmation page to bring to your interview.

  • A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the U.S. (unless country-specific agreements provide exemptions).
  • Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both you and the U.S. citizen sponsor
  • Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)
  • Medical examination (vaccinations are optional, see below)
  • Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)
  • Two (2) 2x2 photographs. See the required photo format explained in Photograph Requirements
  • Evidence of relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e)
  • Payment of fees, as explained below

Note: The consular officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine. Documents in foreign languages, other than the language of the country in which the application takes place, should be translated. Applicants should take to the visa interview clear, legible photocopies of civil documents and translations, such as birth and divorce certificates. Original documents and translations will be returned.

These are only the basic items. Please check with your Embassy Instructions for further requirements. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts-k1-k3-visas.html

There was some information from the VJ Portal for your Embassy but it is a little old but I think most of it is still fresh so you can use it. The page is found here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Bolivia&cty=La

Great, thanks Greenbaum...so completing the 160 while my status is AT NVC is ok?  Also, I don't think the La Paz embassy allows applicants to schedule their own interview appointments, yes?

I just got my case number from 1-603-334-0888. It took almost an hour. I tried the 1-603-334-0700 at 4am Pacific time, but I only managed to stay awake for about 45 minutes. When I woke up a few minutes later the connection was gone.😅

Q1 From the PDF

When can the DS-160 be completed?
The DS-160 is a document that stands alone. The DS-160 does not have a fee, and It does not
need to be completed now, but after you receive your case number, then you can schedule your
interview. This action must be verified with your P3 letter or others from your country. Most
embassies require the DS-160 confirmation number to complete the payment of the MRV
interview fee.

Q2 I am only familar with the process to get your case to the embassy after that it's up to you to find your way. Sub-forums for your region/country are a good place to look for additional help.

Q1 Also, what is P3, and how do I get that? I found out from this guy named Greenbaum, who also authored the PDF, states that he has most of the P3 letters. At least that's what he says in the PDF.

P3 letter with instructions

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aXqmiUJyZWIuflY3GrwPo2q9WANjBpZy/view?usp=sharing

All medical exams are done in Guyana. 2 doctors can do it—once your case gets to the embassy, they’ll email you and you’ll schedule an appointment with them for the interview. Once you have the interview date, you’ll call or email one of the physicians on the list and tell them your interview date. They’ll give you a date within five or so days before the interview so you have enough time to do the exam and get your results to take with you to the embassy.

Q2 Is there a forum for the Guyana Consulate? No.

More specifically not for your consulate, but there is one for the regions where Guyana is situated. So looking at the list of links in the PDF, the one that I would choose is the Caribbean, as that is the one that most reflects the regional area that Guyana finds itself in.

Now you have everything you need. Greenbaum stated a while back that he created the PDF file because he was constantly being asked all the questions/information in the PDF file over and over. It just took up too much of his time to help with the answers over and over. See where I'm going with this? Everything you asked for in your post here is in that PDF file. Greenbaum did his part now; you can reap the rewards of some very helpful information.

Good luck with your journey. As a gift of gratitude, you can send him his favorite beer, a case of Dos Equis, but the Lager addition. I'll let him know to expect it.

Hi @Greenbaum thanks so much for all your help!!! This was very useful information.

Your welcome. If you use the @ sign you do not need to quote such a large post from anyone.  Or quote and cut back some of the verbiage so at least the readers know which you are responding to.

Just a little learner tip for all of us.
