FEBRUARY 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to Embassy

Just called the NVC. They picked it up in less than a minute! 👍 And received my case number!

Still waiting for it to be shipped to the embassy though.

 

I tried entering the case number in CEAC. it says "Your search did not return any data."

Return to the PDF file and read it once again as I talk about the steps their meanings and what to expect. That's why it's there so don't have to ask these questions. Or matter a fractally I don't have to answer them over and over and over again.

Just coming back to update those of you who are hopefully close behind! We got our NOA2 on January 29th, NVC received and forwarded our case on February 18th (I never called but got the email from NVC on the 18th with case number and that it had been forwarded to embassy) The embassy in Australia received our case less than a week later on February 24th. We submitted our DS-160 the same day and paid our visa fee and sent packet 3 back. We've just received our packet 4 email today with interview scheduled for March 17th. Tickets are now booked. I can't believe how quickly its moved since NOA2. Hoping for the same for all of you!

When you search on CEAC put immigrant visa instead of non-immigrant visa. I believe I had that same issue. For some reason at that step its considered immigrant visa. It will be the same when you go to pay the visa fee through the US travel website. You'll have to list is as an immigrant visa. At least it was for us for the Australian embassy.

I did. I selected immigrant visa and it came up with that. I tried non-immigrant too just to make sure 😛 

I guess i will just wait for NVC's email once it has been shipped

Your not getting any status because you were just assigned a case number and nothing has happened with your file. Once it ships then you can check your status and you will see the following (BTW this comes straight from the PDF file):

 

9. Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy: Shipments are shipped on every
other Tuesday and Wednesday. Shipment status is updated throughout the day so if yours
doesn’t appear, just relax and have patience as may show later in the day or the next day if you
received your case number before the Wednesday before the shipping week you most likely
will be on the shipping schedule for the next scheduled shipping dates (see below for shipping
dates).

Check CEAC for updated progress and look for "in transit"!! If that shows, you are on your way.
Shipments are throughout today and tomorrow so don't get discouraged if your record at CEAC
has not changed over to "in transit” Also, for those who want to have a little fun in tracking your
shipment see the DHL hack on the first page of this thread NUMBER 19 for instructions. NOTE:
The DHL hack information will not be available until Wednesday as the DHL and NVC
computers must sync with each other to produce the outcome.
You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical
case file is at the Embassy, and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your
interview. These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received
the case number. Once your record is set to "ready" you are, you can proceed in processing
your next steps as listed in your P3 for your embassy. There are two ready conditions; the first
ready is the electronic version arriving at the embassy, and the second ready is the paper file
that has arrived at the embassy. Sometimes these ready conditions can appear within hours of
each other and sometimes a few days apart.

I called NVC for the first time today and they said my WAC wasn't in the system yet. NOA2 same day as yours. I am gonna try next week.

Try again on Friday  I called 2 days ago and they said no case number yet then.

I did read the PDF..

I thought it would state as in transit even though it hasn't been shipped because of the "soon will be"

My case tracker doesn't even tell me that it is "at NVC" 😜 What app are you using?

Read #9 from the PDF. I just updated the PDF file so you need to go to the first page first post again and download the new PDF.
