hi guys! just to clarify: if petitioner doesn't qualify to be sponsor you need a co-sponsor? even if you show them 2018 taxes+ that you have savings, properties, life insurances, work etc etc?  2018 taxes may be slightly less than minimum required.

I am confused.

Future income cannot be used to support you now. Neither can past income. They will care about current income first. At the time you present the I-134, it needs to show the petitioner's current income...that is how much they are earning at that time. The past income may be considered for the public charge piece as well, but current income is what is required.

It may be wise to seek a co-sponsor for now. The I-134 is not binding, and they do not need to use the same sponsor (or any other sponsor at all) for AOS after marriage.

Thanks zaraliaya, I’m the petitioner so I guess I need to look over the form.

I recommend that you both work on it together. Once it is completed the petitioner should read through the form making 100% that his/her information is correct. Then save it and provide the beneficiary the information to open the form on their end and they then go through the document to ensure dates and names are spelled correctly. Then the beneficiary will submit the document and PRINT off the confirmation page with the bar-code. That's what the beneficiary will bring to the interview and present to the CO.

Thanks greenbaum, should I wait for P3 before submitting the DS160?

Here is the P3 and a link to the Ghana thread where others are discussing what is taking place with their visa applications. I suggest you move over to that thread and begin to ask your questions. I can't take you any further as I do not have the knowledge for each embassy. BTW the P3 will tell when you can submit. If it says nothing then go ahead and submit.

So, the whole new document is confusing (DS5540). I'm seeing in different locations that it will be needed for our interview, and others that it won't.

Is there link or post somewhere covering where it is actually going to be needed?

Or would it be listed in our p3/p4 if we actually need it?

Or do we actually not need it, and it's for all the people who apply with I-129F starting today.

Also, looking over that form - most of the answers would be NA or 0 anyway since we haven't even lived in the US, so why would they want it from us?

Sorry if this doesn't go here, but I can't find anything on it. But maybe there isn't much yet.

It’s confusing me too. We are actually looking for insurance plan now which are all expensive since I won’t be included to my Fiancé’s health insurance until next year

Hey everyone! Just updating again. I received the email that our case was received by the NVC and forwarded last week. The DHL hack said the packet would be received by the embassy by the end of the day on Friday (2/21) I got the email for packet 3 from the consulate late last night (Monday morning Australia time) asking for DS-160 confirmation and fee receipt so we will be sending packet 3 back today. So excited things are moving so quickly now! I think its time for me to move over to my Australia specific forum. Just wanted to update one last time. Good luck to everyone and hoping it moves quickly for all of you too!

First you need to change your country in your profile. The country should be the country in which you plan to interview in.

Thanks so much for all of the info! My only concern with changing the country is that when I filled out the timeline info, it asked specifically for beneficiary's country, and there are some particular issues with Venezuela--such as not being able to renew passports and lack of Venezuelan embassies in the US--that I would prefer to keep the data as accurate as possible in order to help others in the future or to be available for someone else in a similar situation to reach out to with questions. It had a separate place to enter the consulate, which I where I put Juarez, Mexico. Of course, those are just my thoughts on it, and if the benefit of changing the country to Mexico outweighs the benefits of leaving it as Venezuela, I can change it, of course.

It's your choice. But this is where your outlook falls short. You ask a question and I and others will answer what is true for Venezuela.  Now that information can be wrong to use for Mexico. Either we have to remember this or continue to think your interview is Mexico and now I have to search out and answer for Mexico. With the number of post's that I answer I just can't remember if everyone were to not use their correct embassy. After a few attempts then I use a little feature to block me from seeing your posts and you lose my knowledge to help as well as others.
