FEBRUARY 2020 K-1 NOA2 to NVC to Embassy

The US Embassy in Bogota Colombia tweeted the following: "

"The Embassy canceled most – but not all – nonimmigrant visa appointments for March 16-20. If your appointment was canceled, we have ve already emailed you with rescheduling instructions."

I'm not sure how to interpret this on a few levels -- does this include K1 since it has mixed nonimmigrant/immigrant status?

Does this mean they are only cancelling these for now while they continue to monitor the situation.

I surely hope they do not stop all interviews for a while-- this would create a huge backlog...

so frustrated with everything that is going on right now!!

I have been reading so many posts that their visa interviews are postpone- read covid19. :( This gets me worried cos the NVC just received my packet on 13 March 2020 (Fri). I wanna hope to get our case number end of Monday.

Anyone could speak from their experience from the moment they find out their packet is received by the NVC how long after they would get their case number?

@Greenbaum Thank you for your detailed input. I am still reading the pdf you put together. I

Singapore embassy is working?

At this point nobody has any answers.

Hoping this summer will wipeout the virus n start getting things normal.

If NVC staffs are working packets should be shipped either on 17th of March or 31 of March.

In the PDF is state and this still holds true so far this week and that is case assignment is taking 1-2 weeks. Your mileage may vary. Once assigned then you have to be aware when it will ship. So you could be 3-4 weeks till assignment and transfer to your embassy if everything lines up for you.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

I would say that if and applicant received an email it includes them if they did not then it doesn't. Guessing at what or what not is or is not happening can only add stress to your life. I find that when I look at a problem and logically and calmly think it through on what I can control my path becomes brighter.

Mine took about two weeks to get my case number but I missed the cut off date for shipping the following week so I am hoping mine ships out on the 17th as normal. No bans for Australia yet and we still have open borders for most countries so.. Let's see what happens.

Why are you waiting for the NVC number. If you have your MNL# for the Philippines interview, then it's rock and roll time. Follow the steps on @Hank_ website for step by step instructions. Your wasting time.

I still don't have my manila number. I just only have my NOA 1 and NOA 2.

Just a quick question,

It's normal that you don't hear from the embassy as they are slow in sending the P3. I have some information I can share with you. I always recommend that you check the US Embassy where you will complete your interview as their website has instructions. Next place is other from your sub-forum here on VJ. Please pay attention to the last paragraph and give forward. It's important. Some did for you.

For your Embassy there is information here: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Algeria&cty=Alger

The fiancé(e) K-1 non-immigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen. The K-1 visa permits the foreign-citizen fiancé(e) to travel to the United States and marry his or her U.S. citizen sponsor within 90 days of arrival. You can learn more about fiancé(e) visas on usvisas.state.gov.

  1. Once your file is received at post, an instruction package will be sent to you by email.
  2. First you need to pay the visa fee at one of Aramex offices, and then you have to register and schedule a K-visa appointment through the online appointment system at
    www.ustraveldoc.com/dz.
  3. Assemble the required documents that are listed on the instruction package.
  4. Schedule a medical examination with the Embassy-approved physician in Algiers at least 15 days before your visa interview
  5. If the visa is issued, your passport and documents will be available in approximately 7-10 business days at Aramex office that you already selected for pick up or delivery.
  6. If the visa is refused, the Consular Officer will provide you with further information.

https://dz.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Got the case and invoice number from NVC today. Called on Friday as well and they didn't have it, so I think it's safe to assume our case won't be in the shipment tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

I feel stressed! I haven't received any Manila case number yet, I suggested to my fiance to call the NVC and get the case number and he still wants to wait for the letter instead of calling them and aside from that Most of the provinces here in the Philippines are lock down especial Manila where I can do my medical and interview.. I think my papers may be delayed.. 🥺😩😩😩 anyways! Pray and heal the world from Covid-19. 🙏❤️
