Yes, the I129 has a separate fee.

The K-3 is now incorporated into the i129f. Its basically the same thing.

K-3 was always incorporated into i129f and is free to file.

 

To OP: 

After you become the USC, you can send for i129F for free choosing k3 option when filed with i130. Various people have said that filing of k3 have resulted in faster i130 approval. Each case is different but no harm in that approach.

Yes it used to. However it seems they’ve stopped doing that as we haven’t seen anyone get faster processing who filed I129f after the month of October. That being said it doesn’t hurt to try, but just to let you know so far it hasn’t helped anyone in quite a few months

Yes I know, as I said it doesn’t hurt to try but I would not rely on it to help anything at this point. Historically it has only helped at Nebraska so I would wait until after filing I130 and finding out your service center before filing I129f. Maybe it might be processed by the I129f time for Nebraska if it goes there which may help some. But right now no one knows if it helps at all

I’d rather follow USCIS instructions since they are the ones processing the petition first.

Learn something new every day.  Still seems like a waste of time, I am surprised they waive the fee for the I129F, but I suppose what the heck.
