I submitted my civil and affidavit of support documents last week and just today I received a email for incomplete documents, does that mean they are reviewing my documents? because on their website it says they're reviewing documents from November?

That seems to be the case. Have you tried logging in and looking at your messages? Does the email say what you are missing. You can login to CEAC and navigate to the Civil Documents Tab to see what they rejected.

The date on the website is an estimate of where they are at. Some cases get reviewed earlier or later than others.

Do you know if you are doing online processing?

There are three different types of processing. I think most applicants qualify for online procession https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

I'm not familiar with the other two methods. However, other people here might be able to help you if you are processing via mail or email.

we had to sent them in mail because our interview is in Mumbai so we had the option to mail our paperwork and our lawyer mailed it last week and now just today we received this email about missing affidavit documents

There are two possible explanations:

  1. Your lawyer made a mistake and didn't send all the documents or
  2. NVC overlooked or misplaced your documents

You will probably have to send the documents again. However, before you do that, try calling NVC.

Mail takes time to be sent, go through the mail system, be received, processed, etc.  Plus there are lots of VJ stores about lawyers saying they had sent something when they in fact had not and then sent it late.  Your best bet is to wait and hope the documents sent by the lawyer's office finally arrive.  Good luck!

Yes I just checked that they received our mail on monday. We submitted our DS-260 weeks before we sent our civil documents maybe that’s probably why they just sent us an email to remind us to send our civil and financial documents but I tracked my packet it reached NVC on Monday morning. Do they give any notification that they received it or we just wait for the final answer

You should call them instead asking here. Keep calling it takes time..
