Due to lack of clear information, i need help on the next steps.

Background information,

1) I am US citizen and filing I130 for my elder daughter - 14 years old. We live in Bangalore.

2) Had applied in Delhi for DCF I-130 processing. It comes under IR2 category.

3) Case was created on 22 February 2019 in Mumbai - as per ceac status

4) Case got update on 10 March 2019 as per ceac status.

I received this email from Mumbai on 22 February 2019 - fairly generic email. No further information from Mumbai. I am really confused on next steps and the support email in not helping either nor the phone calls. I also read that if there is no action my file after one year then my case will get closed. support@ustraveldocs has not been able to give clear direction.

Questions is,

1) Is the case ready for interview ? and should I schedule the interview ?

2) OR should I wait for Mumbai to schedule the interview and send me the interview letter ?

3) Basic confusion from reading different threads is that should I schedule an interview online OR should I wait for an interview letter from Mumbai?

4) We have taken the PCC about 4-5 months and will expire in February 2020

Doesn't sound like you are doing a DCF - if you had it would have been done by now.

You needed to submit the I-130 First at New Delhi.

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/international-offices/india-uscis-new-delhi-field-office

So if that was done the petitioner would have received an email from USCIS saying that the case was transferred to the consulate.  Then the consulate would message the file number and you would have created a DS-260.   You scheduled an interview online.

If that didn't happen, go to the USCIS and see what happened.

DCF short circuits the whole stateside process and it is on you to keep on top of everything.

Hi Paul,

All of you wrote has happened,

1) Applied I-130 for DCF processing in Jan 2019

2) Got email from Delhi that file needed passport

3) Sent passport via email

4) Got a physical letter from Delhi that file is processed and sent to Mumbai

5) Got a email from Mumbai on 22 Feb 2019

Context : Dad- me is US citizen through naturalisation and moved to India post naturalisation. Have applied for elder daughter - 14 years age through I-130 in DCF since I am living in India. Wife is India citizen. Younger daughter is US citizen through consular birth report.

I was waiting for interview letter fro Mumbai and looks like that is the mistake I have done. Have been sending emails to support@ at Mumbai consulate but didn't accurate information. Bumped into this site and I have found most of the information needed.

Looks like I should schedule the interviews and move forward where as I was awaiting interview letter from Mumbai. I tried taking appointment through website earlier today fro Feb second week, but I am getting error message. Have hit a blocker !

Anyone with experience give me pointers !

Finally after more than one month of frustrating experience, reading through blogs, etc., I was able to schedule DCF - IR2 interview for my daughter @ Mumbai consulate for late March. I have been getting error message, been locked out many times for 72 hours, numerous emails, many calls to support centre, etc., finally at around 8:30am i was able to get two slots - OFS & interview for March third week.
