Hello,

When do we have to schedule the bio-metrics for IR1 visa, my interview date is on 19th Feb? Is is ok to schedule it the previous day of interview?

Can the Petitioner also attend the interview? Do we need to take any appointment for petitioner to attend interview along with the applicant?

I don’t recall ever seeing the need for biometrics in CR-IR1 processes. It may be required depending on consulate and situation, so review your documents from your related consulate to ensure you have completed all you need, including medical examinations and prepared your documents accordingly.

regarding spouse petitioners in the consulate, you’ll have to review your specific consulates rules regarding that. You can check the related country portal on here and the relevant mission website for your assigned consulate.

Typically biometrics are the day before your interview at an Application Support Center.  Look at your consulate instructions.  The instructions will also indicate if a spouse is allowed in.  Usually they are not.  It is a good idea that they are in town with you and that you take their passport with you.   If the CO asks if the petitioner is there with you, you can say yes and here is the passport.    If the petitioner needed biometrics, USCIS would have contacted them stateside. It is rare that USCIS would want biometrics  ut is does happen,

"Biometrics" or "Medical Exam"?  Biometrics will either be as you enter the Consulate or as specifically instructed in your interview instructions.
