Yes, counselling sounds like a good idea for your situation. What is it that your husband really wants. Does he want to be with you or not? He has to make it clear whether he wants you or his ex. If he's willing to get counselling with you then that's a step in the right direction. I wish you both the best of luck.

i really dont know..im so confused cos before when we already start having problems he was telling me that he feels like he is changing but at the same time he is telling me that he is afriad that i might change because of what he did and also he keeps telling me that he loves me.its been 2 days already since him and his ex gf were not talking anymore and i feel like its a big help them not communicating cos it seems that he talks to me a lot now.maybe i should just prolong my patience.i think that will be a big help.

Well, it's kinda screwed up. First of all, how old is your husband that his mom is telling him to stop talking to his ex? Can't he figure it out himself??

Second... I may understand what your husband may be going through. He made a horrible mistake - he got into another relationship without getting over the first one. That's why he's confused. He should have got over his ex before even thinking about starting a new thing. Or maybe he thought that a new relationship will help him get over the old one, but things don't work that way.

I had a breakup years ago, and I tried to stay best friends with my ex. It was one of the worst choices I've ever made in my life - it caused me a great deal of pain, and I pretty much got stuck, unwilling to admit that the only reason I still wanted to talk to him was because I loved him, and I didn't want to let go. For some people it takes a while to learn to burn bridges - but that's what you have to do when a relationship is over.

Your husband has a family now - he has you (and he says he loves you!!!), and he will have a child soon. That's pretty darn serious. He needs to be done with this ex thing once and for all.

I may agree that it's hard not to have feelings for someone you had been with for 7 years, but you gotta learn to get over things too, especially when you already have a new family.

Tiki, try to get him into counseling - it's never a bad thing, and sometimes works wonders.

Tiki I am not from the Phils, but my husband is. I know there are lots of cultural differences here in United States. However your husband is disrespecting you and your marriage. DO not accept this. I would not buy any excuse about the best friends thing. He married YOU and not HER. Think about this, do not be a fool. He has to stop communications with her. I would not allow my husband to be best friends with ANY woman. Sorry to be so blunt but that is my opinion, and good luck , Ate. I will pray for ur strength.
