Yes. For example: We live in Austin, and the nearest USCIS office is in San Antonio. We had the AOS biometrics done in San Antonio, as well as our interview.

The letter you receive for the biometrics appointment will have the address you need to go to listed on it.

ONE DAY AT A TIME....

01/23/2009: Biometrics appt letter received

Not always.

There are seperate application support centers where biometrics are done. Often an ASC might be in the same building as the District Office where you are interviewed, but sometimes there will be a ASC closer to you than your DO.

For me for example, I was interviewed in Philadelphia (200 miles away from me), but had my biometrics done in York (125 miles away).

The same is true for me. My local office is Jacksonville, FL, but my biometrics appointment is in New Orleans, LA. I don't think you'll know for sure until you get your appointment notices.

Thanks everybody for the info. I knew i would know the location for biometrics when i get the notice, but i was just looking ahead a little. When normal people (not uscis) think of fingerprints and photos we try to rationalize and think sensibly, Why cant they contract with local law enforcement to do that. (DUHHH). But we all know pretty much by this time that very little about this process is even close to rational. Thank God and all the powers that be,We have vj. Jerry
