SO back to topic.

 

I was reading today that the Chief Justice actually has the power to issue subpoenas himself, so he could bypass the whole "are there 4 Republicans" thing altogether. But I tend to think he's really unlikely to do that. I kind of tuned it all out today, though my lawyer friend kept messaging me to say, "WATCH DERSHOWITZ! HE'S A [very nasty expletive]!" But I didn't. Took my SIL-to-be out instead for lunch and to get our nails done, and we were both berated by our nail techs for not being married and having children yet. I was given higher marks for actually having a fiance, where my SIL-to-be does not have a proposal yet.

 

Seriously, if you are not a woman, you are unlikely to have been criticized (in English and probably in Vietnamese) for your marital and childbearing choices while you get your nails painted.

If we believe what the left leaning New York Times stated based on an anonymous source, Trump supposedly said he wanted or wished to tie the Ukraine aid to an investigation.  So a person, in this case the President, made his wishes known.  Now we see what actually happened, the Ukraine got their aid, they received it within the timeframe outlined by Congress, and no investigation was required.  Therefore, whatever the source said Bolton said, was simply verbalized thoughts which according to the conspiracy theorists running the Democrat Party, leads to impeachment and removal.  To me, it seems simply a case of TDS run amok, and is completely predictable.

Rich.  Love it.  I am simply using Democrat logic, but since you need a little help, I will do that.  According to the NYTimes story that Axios linked to, Bolton supposedly included in a book that Trump wanted to tie the Ukraine aid to the investigation of the Bidens, or the Democrats.  Now the NYTimes "bombshell"    story (like the Axios story by reference) is from an anonymous source (usually referred to as "sourced" stories), so therefore we are free to speculate as to the source.  Now considering Yevgeny Vindman, the twin brother of Alexander Vindman runs the department responsible for reviewing books like this, we can certainly speculate that he may be the source.  Ok, so now we have President Trump expressing his wishes, but we also have the actual record of what happened, hmm, aid was not contingent on any investigation, the Ukraine leadership was not pressured into investigating the Biden's, and the aid (in this case actual lethal aid, and not blankets and MREs) was delivered within the time frame Congress set up.  So essentially, the NYTime/Axios "bombshell" is a dud unless we are now prosecuting/impeaching/removing due to thought crimes.  If that is the case, I would have been locked up already just for the thoughts of what I wanted to do that that idiot that cut me off on the freeway.

I did not say it was wrong, I only said it was simply the voicing of a thought.  I know, those afflicted with TDS think every impure thought by President Trump much be punished.  Heck, listening to the House managers, Trump wants to be a dictator (surprised they did not refer to him as Hitler).  In my experience, when a political group is pushing a narrative (Russian Collusion, Trump is a dictator, etc.) you can often find they are the ones actually doing that.

My reference was with respect to what happened with the aid which everyone on the Left seems to forget.  Personally, I do not care about what happened on the phone call.  And none of it is impeachable except in the eyes of King Conspiracy Adam Schiff.
