G-56 Call-In Letter (Form I-485 AOS)

Hello,

Today, I received a G-56 Call-In Letter asking me to appear before an IO regarding my Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent or Adjust Status. The letter also asks to bring my Passport, Work Authorization Card, State ID, Certified Original/Certified Copies of Police Clearance Records.

I have been interviewed last September 20, 2019 (AOS) and it was fine but I was asked to produce police clearance documents from all the places I have lived in the last 5 years due to my fingerprints being unreadable/unclassifiable. ( See my topic regarding this: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/719246-how-to-obtain-nbi-clearance-while-in-the-us/?tab=comments#comment-9875612 )

I complied before the deadline (December 15, 2019) and submitted the documents first week of November 2019.

My question is, should my husband (USC) be with me (I only ask because the letter is addressed to me and didn't state to bring spouse)? What to expect from this interview? If anyone has gone through something similar, can you please share your experience so we can best prepare.

Appreciate your inputs. Thanks!

Do you remember signing the I485 form here at the end of your first interview?

Hello,

Thanks for replying. I do not remember signing any documents during my first interview.

Do you think this is also part of the G-56 Call-In Letter, apart from the documents they asked me to bring?

Yes. They need you to sign and the documents you are bringing confirm you are the same person they interviewed. That's it. They just forgot to get you to sign.

Hi again! I’m updating this thread in case someone will have the same concern as mine in the future, that the interview went well. I documented the experience on my timeline and yesterday, Feb 26, 2020 - my AOS has been approved. :)

thanks to all who helped!
