SSS ID?

If you apply for passport, tell them the reason: "tourist" and not for K-1 or immigrant/non-immigrant visa application. At DFA-Manila, they will require CFO Seminar Counseling Certificate for Spouses and Fiance's of Foreign Nationals, so that will take more time for her.

I applied at DFA-Manila and they only asked for my BC and 2 ID (with pictures)-> I have a company ID and PRC ID, so that was not a problem. But in Manila, they accepts NBI as ID since there's a picture and personal info. If you also know a Travelling agency, they can also apply and help you with your passport. Since new applicants needs a "personal appearance", they will accompany you at DFA, then they will be the one to process and follow it up, and you just have to wait and pick it up with them. The usual renewal/new applications through travel agencies ranges from p900-1200. If you apply directly to DFA, it will cost p750 (for rush, within 3 days).

If possible, let her go alone there, so they will not ask for a CFO seminar certificate, since she is a Fiancee of a foreign National. Since she will also need that Certificate from CFO before she leaves the Philippines, she can also do that at this time, if she wants.

Good luck and I hope there will be no more hassles when she applies for a passport in Manila.

I filed a replacement of my SSS ID card last January 23, 2007 and until now, I still do not have it!!!!

Good thing, I have company and school IDs.

Ok, my girl went and filed for her sss id. She will have it in 2 months. She does have the number tho, think the number will be enough for her passport or think she needs the actual card? This is total bs.

I agree with this. I just did this the first time I applied for a passport.

oh yeah dont forget the NBI Clearance (For travel abroad) they asked for this too. You may want to bring old school records just in case.

why don't you try to apply for your fiancee's passport thru a travel agency. It would be less hassle for your fiancee. I got mine thru a travel agent and i only submitted my birth certificate. I paid P1,500 pesos for it. The travel agent went with me to the DFA for the personal appeance because the DFA officer needs to see me sign the application form in person. But I didn't go through the lines anymore, the travel agent took care of all that. I just went back to the travel agency to pick up my passport 5 days later. Yes, write in the application form that your purpose for travel is as a tourist. If she put there that she will go to the US as your fiancee, they ask for more requirements like the CFO certificate etc. Maybe the travel agent can also help her with the ID that she needs to present to DFA. I know that some travel agents know the people at DFA, so they might be more lenient with the ID requirement.
