Petitioner change of address

Hello all, 

 

My husband (USC) moved back to the United States Wednesday just gone leaving myself and our 7 month old girl behind 😞 (we are so sad but it has to happen). 

 

When we submitted the i-130 his physical address was ours in Australia. Now that he has returned the US (to re-establish domicile and get a job etc) does he need to update that with his current US address? 

 

Is this with USCIS still as we are still waiting an approval on the petition? Or should we wait to the NVC stage to do this?

Just do it online via your USCIS case log in... takes 2 seconds no evidence etc needed..

So just do it online? I'll tell him to log in and change it then visa USCIS.

 

This means that come NVC he won't be required to submit any proof of domicile now as he now lives back?

I did hubbies when he moved.. is easy, just log in where you check your case status and there’s a link to change addy.. no evidence needed for him, just type in the addy and submit. 

 

theyll give you a reciept via email of request submitted. Then it will up date.. takes around 3 weeks.. then NOA2 will auto redirect to new addy

Chances are they’ll not request domicile now he’s living there, they didn’t for us.. just affidavit, birth certificate, tax transcripts and a letter from his boss saying employed and earns xyz..

Ohh awesome. I hope not - that was one reason why we decided he should go back early - to re-establish domicile. He spent 12 months here and he didn't have much evidence he maintained either - tough decision to make but we wanted to do this whole thing the proper way and we made the choice to make a baby haha

Sad he had to move back...feel for you.. but is for the best that he does it now.. 

 

damn police certificate rejected.. its with a supervisor now, cause when we called they couldn’t see anything wrong.. 🤞 Tuesday or we call again.. 2 week delay grrrr

We lived in Australia the whole time for my IR-130.  My husband wouldn't leave us, I don't think it is any quicker either way.  We just need to have proof of more money.  For when we moved we had no jobs to go to no place to live - everything works out if you really want something. 

 

FYI - we didn't have to have a sponsor, we did it on our own.

If you're still at the petition stage he can call the USCIS and update his address. If you're at the NVC stage he updates it on the I-864.
