Long time no post! I have found the prettiest lipstick, now that I have more opportunities not to wear a mask. It's the new Bite Beauty Power Matte Lipstick in Sugar Buns, which is the sweetest pink nude:

Review: https://www.temptalia.com/product/bite-beauty-power-move-hydrating-soft-matte-lipstick/sugar-buns/

I would give this lipstick an A-, not a B personally. It lasted 8 hours for me with a lip liner, including three cups of coffee and lunch. It's matte, but not dry at all. It's also vegan and clean, for people who care about that. Enough color that it makes you look brighter without looking too made up. I used it with a KVD Beauty lip liner in Lovecraft, which matched perfectly. I really like how I can get a precise line with the KVD liner. https://www.amazon.com/Kat-Von-Everlasting-Liner-Lovecraft/dp/B071RDZ5DM

Oh wow, I missed this! I will have some more thoughts about this... 3.5 months later.....

I came to rave about a product I'm in love with. I have started using the Danessa Myricks Vision Cream Cover Adjustable Foundation and Concealer: https://www.sephora.com/product/danessa-myricks-vision-cream-cover-2-in-1-foundation-concealer-P469460?skuId=2443844 It's amazing! You only need to use a very, very tiny bit to achieve medium coverage, and it is buildable up to full concealer level. The finish is natural and last all day with setting spray and a little loose powder (if you need it). At $28 it's great value for a high end product. I use a foundation brush for this instead of a beauty blender.

Up to 40% off at Charlotte Tilbury -- Black Friday came early. https://www.charlottetilbury.com/ca/products/black-friday-beauty-deals?gclsrc=aw.ds&&nst=0&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhf2MBhDNARIsAKXU5GRXdJHwAExUmVknrg6jLiYLPL8YO0FqtE_d8FEmKAJmVbteGVFme5saAtGOEALw_wcB

And in more affordable beauty: I recently chopped my COVID hair (i.e. uncut since February 2020 and past my hips) to my collarbone and besides loving it, I also have to style it a little differently. Enter my savior: the Revlon one step hair dryer and volumizer. https://www.glamour.com/story/revlon-one-step-blow-dryer-brush-review

O.M.G. this is a game changer. Your hair looks like it was properly blown out at a salon. Bouncy and smooth. Make sure to use a heat protectant (I use Amika Brooklyn Blowout but there are so many good ones at every price point) because this gets hotttt on high. I also use a few drops of hair oil for extra shine.

I got mine for under $35 on sale at Amazon. If you're like me and too clumsy/uncoordinated to handle a hair dryer and round brush at the same time, this is your holy grail. Don't get a knock off when the real deal is $35 from a trusted brand with a three year warranty.

Trust it is true, like Euclidean geometry saying the internal angles of a triangle always add up to 180°. (Don't ask me about non-Euclidean geometry, I keep a mathematician at home for that stuff.)

But see? I can do bargains too. The Dyson hair dryer my husband bought for me a couple years ago cost ten times the Revlon one. I, uh, pretend to use the Dyson now.

Charlotte Tilbury. Expensive, yes, but a true cream and it lasts, especially with a primer. I have three: Rose Gold, Pillow Talk and Champagne. Absolutely gorgeous! https://www.charlottetilbury.com/us/product/eyes-to-mesmerise-pillow-talk Not a single one of them has ever dried out.

Speaking of CT, I got a fantastic new lippie from her -- it came as a freebie when I spent more money than I want to admit on products. https://www.charlottetilbury.com/us/product/hot-lips-2-glowing-jen-lipstick It's very flattering and is a step up from "your lips but better" -- definitely a punch of color but not too much.

I just showered my mother-in-law who is recovering from COVID with a gigantic box of Charlotte Tilbury skincare and makeup and she has finally decided I am a better daughter-in-law than my husband's first wife.

A couple months ago, my husband and I were in a Sephora (no, I don't always have to drag him there at knifepoint) so he could get ideas for what scents I like. I tried ten or twelve and fell completely in love with one called Bitter Peach. Then I saw the price and said nooooooooooo do not buy me this. Seriously, do not buy me this. I got a tester and wore it frequently until I ran out, and he seemed to like it too. (He said I smelled like a peach crumble laced with rum, served by a flirtatious wench which is... a lot to process.) Flash forward and of course he bought it for me. I told him I was very angry with him but I would forgive him because I kind of love smelling like a peach crumble. He asked where the flirtatious serving wench was, that the price he paid for it meant there should have been a wench included. 🙄

Merry Christmas to all the beauty addicts!
