Picked up the Naked Cherry palette -- total steal at $24.50. The colors are so beautiful -- if you like pinks and peaches and maroons, this is a dream.

I used Caution, Bang Bang and Ambitious today, with a raisiny kohl eyeliner. Even though the only place I have gone or will go today is Staples.

I admit sometimes he'll walk into the living room where I'm sitting on one of the couches and raise his eyebrows at something really weird I've done, but he says whatever makes me happy and keeps me amused is good by him. The other week it was magnetic false eyelashes. I was very curious after reading about them in an article online -- you paint on eyeliner that has magnetic properties, let it dry for 10 minutes, then pop on the strips, which also have magnets in them. Um, well, it worked but it was kind of odd (I admit) to be sitting in the living room at 11am on a random weekday with super dramatic fake eyelashes, while I was wearing leggings and a sweatshirt.

I tried some of these.  Not a fan.  I don't wear a lot of liquid liner and you have to put SO much liner on for these to work properly.

Made my best friend buy this one.  I want her to get the ultra violet too. She has brown eyes so it makes them pop.

Yeah, I think I will be giving the magnetic lashes a miss in the future.

Have you seen the Naked Honey palette? I am not sure how good I would look in all those gold tones -- they can make me look a little jaundiced. But the Ultraviolet one looks great -- let me know what she thinks.

She hasn't gotten it which is unfortunate.

I have cooler skin and blue eyes... I think I can wear most colours?

For some reason I think Orange and Red work with me, mind you ended up with a very red face in the last week, need some protection, I think more obvious as you are wearing multiple layers.

You know my stance on sunscreen! It is really important for everyone. Choose something that is at least 30 SPF. If your skin is dry, choose a moisturizer with SPF in it. You only need like a quarter teaspoon. I am going out in a moment and will barely be in the sun, but I wear a moisturizer that has 35 SPF. I don't think a day has gone by in the past 20 years that I have not worn sunscreen, except for maybe one or two. I don't look even close to my age people tell me, and that is partly because I have no wrinkles. My sister has been less good about the sunscreen, and she's the one getting Botox and fillers, not me. (She wears it now but the damage is there.)

I am an authoritarian about one thing only and that is sunscreen. :P

I have not considered Botox or fillers, wonder if there is a difference between all the genders? Probably need to review my skin care regime.

I know men out here who have had Botox and fillers, definitely not a gender/sex thing here, but you know -- Hollywood culture filters down faster here.

You don't need them unless you want them. I plan on avoiding as long as I possibly can, though I am not against them in the slightest. Just my time has not yet come to meet the Wrinkle God. People have told me it's partly genes, partly healthy living (eat well, exercise, no smoking, no drugs, lots of water), partly skincare and mostly having no kids. :D

Well I qualify for the last bit, so what sort of age should you be considering this, my Granddad pretty sure never used sunscreen or for that matter had fillers or Botox done and he had less cover on top than I do.

I will reply when I get home, we're finishing errands. But I have ideas, as I always do (not always above my station, as my former MIL used to accuse me of).

You don't need fillers if you don't want them. End of.

That taken care of, sunscreen. A good 35+ SPF facial sunscreen is pretty easy to find, even at drugstore/Costco prices. Couple of good ones:

I've been married before, and it was awfully stressful. Still no wrinkles. :)

Marriage #2 is to someone who actively works to make my life less stressful and more joyous, every day. Even if I get some wrinkles, I think I can live with that as a tradeoff for having the best possible husband for myself. ❤️
