05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I have a confession to make. Possibly the most ridiculous beauty purchase I've ever made.

Yes. I found them just fine but I am a fairly small person. However they come as essentially two sheets so you can place accordingly. The most annoying thing is having to lie down on your belly and wait. I did this once in my old place in Berkeley and forgot to draw the curtains on the French doors (I lived in a back house of a much larger house, back in the garden). The Amazon guy let himself in the garden gate to drop off a delivery on the deck that led to the French doors and got a surprise. I wanted to die but I think he did too.

Good thinking -- Prime deliveries of everything but household staples and medical and pet supplies are being delayed at the moment. I tried to buy dishwasher tablets but the soonest they'll be here is the middle of April. Going to have to move to handwashing if we run out before then. 

 

There are some YouTube videos but I don't want to embed one since it probably violates TOS.

I don't dye my hair but keeping well right now includes taking care of yourself. If keeping your hair colored something that makes you feel better right now, do it! I'm still doing my hair masks every week and doing a full blowout at least once a week.
