So I tried a new primer today, benefit.  I think I like it a lot better than smashbox or kvd.

Is the Porefessional? That one is pretty good. I'm trying the YSL one today. My rosacea is acting up (it flares hormonally) so I had to bring out the big guns of that MAC foundation at the end of last week. I'll be switching back to the Bobbi Brown BB cream at the end of the week, I hope.

I got a sample over the weekend from Nordstrom of the Le Labo Santal 33 perfume and it is GORGEOUS. It is also hideously expensive so I'll see how many more samples I can squeeze out of Nordstrom. :P

I don't wear perfume so at least that expense doesn't hit my account.  LOL

I did buy some make up brushes that were on sale from sephora.com.  completely forgot my free samples  Also the lady only gave me one sample for my birthday instead of all 3. :( I'm no longer a vib either. :(

Noooooo! You should call the Beauty Insider helpline or email them and tell them you only got one sample. I do this all the time when they skimp out on samples in my orders -- sometimes there are none in the box. :( I let them know and they send me new ones or add points to my balance. One year they forgot to send me the Rouge gift and they ended up sending me three over a two week period when I complained. It's a good thing I liked that Tarte blush!

Lets not exclude drag queens + men who just like to wear make up! I love drag culture and let me tell ya, those queens purchase and wear A LOT of make up!

Yes that one. It went on nice but didn't last the day.... :(

I get dry spots on my skin and no matter what I do with primer or foundation, it just hugs the little edges of the dry skin spots.  I don't get it.

I get zits despite being dry. I even have started using a rose oil on my skin!

I am on day 2 of the YSL primer. I wore a heavier foundation than usual, and it was warm (70s), and by the time I took everything off at around 7:30pm the only places it had worn away was on my chin and a little where the bridge of my sunglasses had rested earlier in the day. Pretty impressed! It's this one: https://www.yslbeautyus.com/skincare/skincare-collections/top-secrets/top-secrets-instant-matte-pore-refiner/82YSL.html It did NOT leave me matte, just not oily.

With the dry spots, are you doing any treatments besides moisturizing and the rose oil? Any masks?

I've been dealing with zits this week myself. 😒 One under my eye and one on my jawline. The jawline one is worse because it's deep under the surface and hurts like a %$&^%#&%%.

I have an exfoliating face wash that I use in the shower but I think using it daily makes it worse tbh.    I don't like masks in general and I always break out after them regardless of the type.  Clay masks were always the best but I haven't found one since the mary kay days in the early 2000s that I like.

zits are normally on my chin but that's from touching.  Its been up near my hair recently too from my bangs (which cover them up so yay? lol) but recently on my cheeks so that's why I started with the rose oil.  It's been dry here.  I mean it's ALWAYS dry here, as boiler will tell you, but recently it's been either humid or stupid dry (or just so cold and the furnace is in overdrive. )

Well it has been blowing snow horizontally for the last 2 days, seems to have eased off in the last hour so time to start digging, but agree it should feel damp but it does not.

If you are able to get to a brick and mortar Sephora, see if you can get a sample of the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Mask. It is quite simply the weirdest and best clay mask I have ever used. It does NOT dry even though it's clay (which makes it weird), and it simultaneously seems to suck up oil while moisturizing and leaving you with "baby skin." I use it twice a week. It's only 15 minutes and it just washes right off.

I use an exfoliating face wash in the shower (Clinique, the gentler one) too, but my derm has told me that chemical exfoliators are often better than scrubs and more gentle. Not that I am doing that so who knows?

When it's super dry or super humid in your environment but you have combo skin it is a balancing act. There's only so much our makeup can do -- it's really the skincare. Rose oil is a good idea!!! Just give it at least 2 weeks to figure out if it's working or not, unless you have an allergic reaction obviously.

My mom got me a microneedling kit for Christmas and I'm sort of terrified by it, lol. She also got me a little "personal hair remover" thing for my face and I was like: do I have a mustache? She assured me that whatever I had wasn't obvious because of my coloring. Which just left me with almost the same question: do I have a mustache that is only visible in certain lights? My fiance was extremely helpful and said that my mother's gift was thoughtful in the circumstances. I feel completely trolled by everyone! So I used it.

I hate co-washing! There, I said it. Whatever my stylist did with co-washing my hair is not something I can replicate. The experiment is over.

THANK YOU!!!! Now you just need to convince all the men posting in here that they are WRONG. :P I have been telling them for at least six months and in other threads that they are not doing themselves any good.
