Well that is what happens if you get the Boiler bump on VJ.

Have said it before and will say it again, si and sigh man.

We guys have 6 things in our bathrooms:  a toothbrush, and toothpaste; shaving cream, and a razor; a bar of Dial soap; and a towel from a Holiday Inn.

Conversely, women have a minimum of 439,000 things in their bathrooms... very few of which a man could identify.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Don't worry your pretty little head about all of our things -- we know exactly what they're meant to do. 😁

He's just annoyed his wife is taking up room instead of his pre-owned towels.  LOL

Went to sephora yesterday.  got foundation, a setting powder for the teen (which smells fantastic) some primer... i need a good primer (I'd like a good eye primer too) and some liquid liner.

They have a brush set online, not in the store I was in, that's on sale so I'll buy it there.

Anyone ever used a kat von d pallet?

Yes! I have used the Shade & Light highlighter/bronzer contour palette. I liked it because it's matte, and I don't always want to sparkle like a disco ball. But I kind of went through my contouring phase and stopped using it, though I still turn to it occasionally. Finely milled powders, very smooth application. The darkest bronzer was way too dark for me, but I got use out of almost everything else in there. Plus, the palette is refillable which is cool. I have heard good things about the Shade & Light eyeshadow palette too.

For primers, so much depends on your skin type and the foundation you are using. Some foundations will not work well with silicone based primers. I love the Hourglass Veil primer, but I also like the Fenty Beauty ones too. I am currently using a MAC foundation and I find both of these work well with that. On the basis of something i read in here (I think), yesterday I ordered a YSL primer out of curiosity.

What foundation are you using?

Okay, let me look up its formulation. The rule of thumb is that water based foundations don't work well with oil and silicone primers, but it can be a YMMV issue with silicone ones which can sometimes work fine. I have not had success with that Smashbox primer myself.

Something to think about, I often feel my contributions here are not fully appreciated.

Same with paint.

So both the primer and the foundation are silicone based, which means in theory they should work together. The foundation is actually silicone AND water based, so you might try a water based primer to see if you get more success. Next time you're in sephora, ask them for samples of the Too Faced Hangover primer (smells great, just didn't work for me) and the Becca Backlight primer. The last one is soooooo pretty-- really gives you a lit from within glow. Another thing is to make sure you let the primer have some time to set before getting to foundation, at least a minute. I usually make it five. My order is something like this:

Cleanse in shower

Tone (Mario Badescu Rosewater)

Moisturizer (Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream)

Eyeshadow primer (Urban Decay)

Mess about making another coffee for 5 minutes 😁

Eyeshadow (most days just a sweep of Tom Ford in a light beige shade across all of lid, with a slightly darker brown in crease)

Primer (Hourglass Veil, dime sized amount, apply with fingers)

Eyeliner (I use a brush and often a dark eyeshadow color, right now a deep purple which makes my green eyes pop). By the time my eyeliner is done, I am usually ready for foundation.

Foundation (currently MAC Studio Fix in NC20 using a beauty blender)

Laura Mercier setting powder (t zone only)

NARS Orgasm multi stick blush

Maybe a tiny highlight on my cupid's bow and cheekbones (not every day)

Blend blend blend!!! I use a buffing brush for this

Sometimes setting spray, usually Urban Decay

Benefit Gimme Brow or Glossier Boy Brow (I don't like a super defined brow)

Fenty mascara

Lipstick/stain/gloss

I take my time and though that seems like a lot of steps, it ends up looking fresh and very natural. I go for a heavier eye look in the winter.

Why Secondhand Beauty Products Could Leave You Feeling Used

Buying makeup that isn't box fresh is a growing trend. But the savings aren’t always as flawless as they seem.

I wouldn't do it, especially with anything that came in a pot, or things that go near my eyes. Unopened, sealed? Sure. But not someone else's used stuff.

I wouldn't use any unopened unsealed make up unless it's out of a tube.  And then only if I knew when it was originally purchased since make up technically has an expiration once unopened.  I started buying mini mascaras because the full size go bad before I get anywhere close to using them.

How to clean your makeup brushes

Synthetic or natural, they will last longer if you wash and dry them carefully once a week – without using hot water
