Hi everyone!

I'm new to the process, and only getting my info from the web.

What has happened so far?

  • Mailed my complete I-129F packet to USCIS on 1/13/20
  • Received notification via text on 1/21/20 that my application was recieved on 1/15/20
  • My receipt starts with WAC
  • Check was deposited and shown as withdrawn from my account on 1/23/20.

What exactly am I waiting for next? It's not clear to me.

Thanks for the help on my journey.

Sorry for my ignorance. NOA is short for?

I assume RFE is Request for Evidence? In other words, need more proof?

Sometime fairly soon you'll get something in the mail from USCIS stating your petition was received and showing your case #. That's what VisaJourney calls NOA1 (the top of the letter will say '[some form number] Notice of Action').

If things progress normally, then in a few months (about 3-4 by current averages, but processing times can go up or down large amounts in a relatively short time) you'll get a notification that your petition was approved. That's what VisaJourney calls NOA2.

If you made some correctable errors on your petition or have missing/insufficient documentation for things required for your petition, you may get a Request for Evidence (RFE).

If you made critical errors on your petition, you could get a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID); this is very rare.

Hi @datsm3,

Please follow the guides below. Your questions can be answered there. there is even a flowchart to give you a rough idea on what and when to expect steps.

This helps incredibly and what I was looking for! Thank you so much, this explains what I needed to know!

There are some USCIS apps that you can find in the Play Store for Android and probably in the Apple Store as well. Download one and put it your WAC number. You can then track your process. Maybe receive updates more quickly.

Although useful (I haven't uninstalled the one I was using), note that all of the USCIS apps are unofficial, and probably work off the same data as the 'old' web site (because getting through the 'new' web site's two-factor authentication is tricky for an app to do).
