When can I get drivers license?

Hi all!

Quick update. I just went to the DMV (even though they informed me by email that I had to wait until getting my green card) and got the written exam and eye exam done. Luckily, I did not have problems! I explained to the lady that the stam on the passport was the I-551 that served as a temporary green card for one year.
She did have to check a couple of times with a supervisor about how to do it but they never said anything about it. I got the whole thing done without a problem. I now have the temporary license to practice until I do the driver's exam.

I too came to update and saw urs...samething happened with me yesterday...i got it without any problem too the temporary permit after passing the written exam and they considered the stamp on passport and visa as proof of me being LPR

Awesome! I'm glad they are not making us wait for actual green card considering how long its taking.
