USAA won't add me to my husband's bank account!

W8ben is the correct form. In fact RBC usa made me fill one out for my US account when I was still living in canada.  You use the w9 after you get an SSN. 

Now if your husband is the USC and you are the beneficiary if he is not the main account holder then he may not be able to add you.  However he can start his own account and add you.  (And vice versa.)
