Hi all,

My wife and I are living together in Hong Kong, and we have a pending I-130 (i am the US citizen and she is the beneficiary). When we submitted the I-130, we had no problem inputting our Hong Kong address into the forms. We will be moving into a another apartment building just down the street, but we cant find a way to update the address (both physical and mailing addresses need to be updated). The online change of address webpage (https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do) only allows domestic USA address to be input, as neither the 'Zip Code' nor the 'State' fields can be left blank. I also looked into the option of sending a hardcopy AR-11 form, but even that form does not appear like it was designed to properly reflect an international address. It doesn't have a place to input the 'Country'. It's so bizarre because the actual I-130 form specifically has a field to input 'Country' and does not require any zip code or state, but now the change of address process only seems to allow domestic addresses to be input.

Does anybody have any tips or advice?

You can call the USCIS 800 number and give them the new address, or just wait until the NVC stage and use the new address going forward.  Is the Hong Kong address what you used as your mailing address?

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thanks for the reply! Yes, i used my HK address as my mailing address too. I called USCIS last night and they were very helpful. They explained that it would normally be possible to change address over the phone, but only if i registered using a US phone number. They said that the over the phone address change must be performed by a 'tier 2 officer', and the process was for the officer to call me back, but that only works if I registered with a US phone number. The other alternative they explained was to log into the USCIS account and to use the Inbox to send a message explaining the situation. I have tried that and now awaiting the response.

Really appreciate your help. I hope this works!
