Interview Questions

Hi all,

My fiance had his medical on Monday so hoping to book his interview next week, Wed/Thur. Has anyone gone through the interview process RECENTLY (3-4 months), that could provide any tips or specific questions they were asked? We are trying to figure out the best way to prep for the interview questions.

Additionally, how intense do they look at the financial support information? We are providing what they said on to on the support documentation. Will they ask my fiance about my finances?

Financial Evidence of Support – I-134

                                                              i.      A signed statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institution that states when you opened an account, the total amount deposited for the past year, and the present balance of such account

ii.      A signed statement from your employer on business letterhead that states the date and nature of your employment (my job), salary paid, and whether the position is temporary or permanent

iii.      A list containing the serial numbers and denominations of bonds and names of the owners (if applicable)

Thanks!!! (Its exciting seeing a light at the end of the tunnel....for now! I know I will be an anxious wreck until the interview is over!)

They asked my fiancée for my tax returns and that’s it with the I-134. As far as questions it was basic, how did you meet, when did you meet, what do you both do for a living.

Thank you for the response. When was your interview?

She was nervous of course but said it was easy and straight forward. Her entire time at the embassy was under an hour.

No statements from banks or anything about bonds is necessary if you are using the sponsor's income alone. A letter from employer and a tax transcript and London will be very happy.

Thanks, I have the bonds/bank statements already so we will bring those just in-case, plus the employer letter. It doesnt say taxes on the 134 support document of what you need so that is frustrating we keep seeing that being asked. I will get it this weekend. Thanks for the response!

My fiance had his interview January 15th. Was basically the same as FreyaandRyan. Really easy. You can read his review in my timeline.

Re the questions that ask, there's definitely no need to prep - it's not like a pop quiz at school, where revision is needed - it's just a chat with someone about your relationship.

I wasn't asked anything about my fiance's income, they just took the first page of his most recent tax transcript. Didn't ask to see employer letter or anything.

Good to know thanks! So you just presented his 2018 tax transcript?
