Woman claims gas pump is sexist because she has tiny hands...?

After an exhaustive complaining article on the subject, she follows up that it's no big deal anyway..but she'll get an electric car to solve her problem in the future. It's been making rounds in several publications, just so that she can get even more exposure.

Read the title and immediately expected something along the lines of the phallic-like shape of the nozzles.

 

Also, her hands don't appear very tiny to me.

I'm 4'11" and my hands are small, but proportionate. Yes, sometimes on a few older pumps I've had a cramp in my hand as I've filled up the car. Believe me, there are way bigger indignities associated with being small than this.

Being very short myself, with very tiny hands, I don't think I've ever recognized this as a problem. I've seen kids pump cars and little persons pump cars, and they all seem just fine. How do these publications find these people with such terrible life problems?

I do not recall my youngest venture of refueling vehicles, but I am guessing it was around the ripe old age of 7 or 8.  Somehow, I survived, and never felt the need to complain to any higher entities.

Try filling up in Ontario where they don’t allow the pump handles to have the stop to keep it pumping without needing to keep a grip on it.

Happens here in Alberta too. 

 

Canada has a lot more risk aversion, so when dumb people cause explosions/fires/etc. at stations, they're pretty quick to remedy. Sucks when you have to stand out there for a few minutes at -40 (C/F).

The worst thing anyone can do while refueling is get back into the vehicle and accumulate static charge.  I have never been in Alberta, so I was not sure if the gasoline nozzle catch elimination was there as well. I have seen a few folks in filling stations in Ontario use the cap in the handle to keep it pumping.

Did not know she was the DM police. There were so many newspapers with the same article, I just picked one.
