NEW YORK (AP) — CBS was the first major network to break away from President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate on Tuesday, allowing its viewers to watch their regular afternoon fare instead of a debate over a proposed amendment to subpoena White House documents.

The decision illustrated the on-the-fly judgments television executives will face every day of the trial, juggling concerns over millions of dollars in advertising revenue, news purists cognizant of the weight of history and angry soap opera fans.

 

Must admit apart from the truly committed, who would want to watch it?

I mustered an hour or two of it, but skimmed the repetition of arguments, the parliamentary show, along with the back and forth where Chuck didn't get his Pelosi's way so rather than lump all his amendments into one he was insisting on dragging the process with a litany of amendments, so Mitch forced the Senate to stay in business (to vote on many of them) into the next day until he wanted to go to bed, and could do the same today. 

 

Beyond people not being able to watch much of the parliamentary show, or decipher it, it's not exactly catering to TDS, so, not going to excite the left. Much more preferable to watch a Maddow reimagining of what happened.
