Hi, I am from the Philippines and residing now in Canada. My dad petitioned me on the F2B category with April 2009 priority date. He became a US citizen before I got married so I was confident my petition would not get cancelled. A few months ago my F2B visa became current and I was able to get the NVC to change my category to F3 and retain my priority date.

I understand the F3 category priority date is 10 years behind. I don't mind waiting 10 more years but how come the NVC is asking me to proceed with the following below. Does this mean I will get the visa soon or only during the interview they will ask me to wait further?

- Pay the Immigrant Visa application fee

- Submit the DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa Application

- Upload the required civil documents.

CEAC website has this summary information. I guess this answers my question, got confused with what was on their email.

Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The National Visa Center (NVC) will retain the petition until an immigrant visa becomes available. The NVC will notify the petitioner, principal applicant, or attorney of record when this petition is eligible for further processing. The principal applicant should not make any firm plans such as disposing of property, giving up jobs, or making travel arrangements at this time.
