Okay well there are 68 pages in this thread, so it’s impossible to keep up with who is at what stage. I think we’re all just looking for support from people in a similar situation, so it’s not necessary to chastise somebody who’s only seeking camaraderie. For those who are interested, my husband was approved at his interview this morning. Thank you to those that answered our documents questions.

It was meant lightly.

I would have hoped that as we’ve had approval letters, then surely the visa center should have record of our names at least!?

I don’t know why they can’t just search our name and advise whether the LND has been sent already and been lost in the mail somewhere, or surely if we’re still waiting our cases should have been investigated by now

Seven weeks I made a suggestion but don’t think anybody tried  contacting the Department of State. My wife’s contact number has been lost.  Here is the post from page 31 of this thread—-

Here’s a long shot idea for you. Back when I did this, my wife discovered calling the Department  of State was a way to get all kinds of info. We had no case status CEAC and such back then. Everything was by mail and paper forms. They (DOS) can access your case online. She found out interview date, when visa issued, and things like that with no wait time for somebody to answer. That eventually spread on VJ and everybody was calling them so they quit answering visa questions. Maybe if your USC calls, you will get lucky and get a sympathetic person who will not hang up on you. I found the old cracked iPad with her list of immigration phone numbers In the notepad, but it had been wiped clean.

There is a current number for emergency services for American citizens 202-502-4444

Perhaps the USC could call and say you seem to be stuck in no man’s land and need help because...insert any hardships like mom illness, house sale and being homeless.  You want to find out if  a State Department case number has been issued so you can finish.  Your Spouse visa petition was approved on [date] by the USCIS office in London. The case has been with the consulate in London for some time but you can’t continue with the automated procedures without a case number. The embassy will not respond even though they are open and conducting interviews. Can they please help you find out if a case number has been assigned or give you more information on how to get one.

Hi there. Thanks for the info. This may be worth a shot, but as our case is embassy and not NVC related, I’m not sure how much help it’ll be.

may be worth a shot at this point though, I wasn’t on this forum that long ago so I missed your original post.

cheers!

I’m not talking about NVC. I am speaking of the Department of State, which is the parent agency to National Visa Center and all embassies and consulates.  if you have been assigned a Department of State case number and it was lost in the mail, then they could look it up if you can convince the person on the phone to help you. They have access to everything NVC or embassy related because they are the top.  Call it the case number, not the LND number because they are over every consulate and deal with a lot more than London (LND).  If you can get somebody sympathetic to look up your names and check if you have a number assigned, then it answers your post about “what if it got lost in the mail?”.  Let them know you are stuck from finishing because the number is required to fill in the application, schedule the medical, or pick your interview date and you really need some help.
Edit—

Also be able to give them both full names and both birthdates...Petitioner and beneficiary.

Information to use:  You are doing Consular Processing. Your petition has been approved. Your case is already at the Immigrant Visa Unit in London and has been there for x weeks.

1.5 hours for the medical!? Yikes. In the old days, Military medicals take about 20 minutes flat.  Including, Cough! Next! 😂

Most of that is idle waiting around I'm afraid. The actual history, physical examination and blood taking part takes a few minutes. To be fair, I spent about 20 minutes chatting with the examining physician about his career pathway, the NHS, and common hospitals we may have worked at!

I am looking for a difinitive answer to the following query. Have searched all over but remain unclear.

I am trying to get to the bottom of i-864.

I receive a monthly pension from Ministry of Defence. The monthly pension x 12 does not meet the 125% Federal Poverty Guidelines. In order to make up the difference we have cash which are proceeds of our recent house sale in UK. There is more than sufficient cash to meet 3 x the shortfall between 125% and my annual pension income.

Can this be used to meet the i-864 requirement?

We would rather take this approach than use a Joint Sponsor.

Grateful for all guidance.

Hey! So, I found out on Friday that my number had been sent. I messaged the staff at my old apartment and sure enough in the postbox there was the letter dated September 15. This is odd because the address is definitely not my mailing address. Do you have different addresses it could have gone too?

Anyone looking for an interview appointment at London? This is all I see on their page for now:

There are no available appointments at the selected location. Please try again later

Do we know how often they release them on the ais site? I saw in this thread there were some available last Monday for the week of Oct 7th. Do they do batches every week? My medical is Oct 14th so I'm looking for one hopefully the week after. Am I crazy thinking this would be possible?

Firstly congratulations!

it seems like we’re the last to get our number now. We’ve been at the same UK a address since moving back here so there’s no other address it could have been sent to, sadly. 😑

you were the last one to offer us some solidarity but now we’re all alone in the abyss 😂

best of luck with the rest of the process! Hopefully we’ll get something soon 🥺

So disappointing, but it will happen for you. Did you try calling the DOS number and pleading for some information? Your letter could have landed in a letterbox down the street.
