Still nothing today in either post or email. :(

Obsessively following you and the rest of the gang waiting for this mystical number. 😢

my morning routine involves me checking the forum to see who has got their number so to give me hope ours is on the way. Surely they wouldn’t have lost the few people who applied for DCF in its dying moments- is what I keep telling myself. Haha.

Captains star log day 7,467.

I awaited the post man to arrive with news of a LND number. Instead I got a dominos pizza menu. Could be worse I suppose.

Great question.

Having thought a bit more, in your position, I would parcel up my family and travel on a ESTA. Is it 90 days max on an ESTA? I think I would stay 80% of what I'm permitted then, with a bit of luck, when (UKC) arriving back in UK, the LND is waiting.

That would give you time to, if necessary, re-establish domicile, secure work, get a place to stay etc. Thats the i-864 covered and also the question of intent to domicile.

I would book flights via Dublin and clear US Customs there. If there is a problem its easier to return to UK from Dublin than US.

Ha, if that is above board, we may do just that.🙂

Is that an option and within the rules?

After much deliberation and yet another day passing without any letter from Visa Unit, I applied for and received approval for my ESTA today. Over the next 6-8 weeks we have a mind to plan a visit to USA and see my wifes family. My wife will remain in USA, setting up domicile etc and I will return to UK and wait. It breaks our hearts to be put in the potential position of being apart, but it is what it is. For the reason previously stated, we will clear US Immigration in Dublin. I "retire" from NHS on Nov 30 (my last day at work is Oct 22 then on AL) and with the recent sale of our home, I am expecting mucho questions from the Immi Officer at Dublin. We anticipate travelling in October after 22 and me staying for 80% of what my ESTA permits. (unless Visa Unit pulls it out the bag and I must return sooner🙂.....HA! )

Hopefully the Visa Unit can get itself sorted out in 6-8 weeks. Hey ho.........

What issues does anyone foresee with this plan? Grateful for your input.🙂

A new week and new hope for the delivery of our LND Numbers.

Out of interest, has anyone received an LND Number in the last 2 weeks? It seems to have gone very quiet on that front. If you have, would be grateful if you shared the date of your USCIS Approval.

Good luck everyone🙂

I was thinking the same.  I heard others talking about student visas being top priority before the semester started so maybe that explains the lull and hopefully we will see some movement this week.

Good luck to you too, @Stuwoolf!!

Not seen anyone mentioning getting theirs in the last few weeks. My congressman said they would inquire but I’m not holding my breath. Sent a fresh email out this morning.

Thanks.

I have been sending emails to Visa Unit. Needless to say any response received has offered neither help or insight.

In response to my email sent on September 03 - this response received today.

"Thank you for your email.

Due to COVID-19 we are experiencing a significant backlog. Our colleagues in the Immigrant Visa Unit will be in contact with you in due course regarding your case. Please bear with them."

This does not give any insight to why some petitioners have received and others with very similar timelines have not? To me this suggests a problem with the way the "system" being used at Visa Unit is being conducted.

I’ve got that same response a few times. It’s a complete smokescreen, in my opinion, that allows them to take what time they want.
