Still nothing here. Going to send another contact form tonight

Curious. What exactly do you say when you contact them? Is it the USC or the UKC who is contacting?

In my case its the UKC doing the contacting. Mainly because, as far as I recall, the Visa Unit is now dealing with me as the visa Beneficiary. I also think (its been a while since it was received😂 ) the Approval Letter said anything else would be going to the Beneficiary. Not sure if this is correct or not?

The email sent basically sets out the info from the Approval Letter ie 5 weeks to wait, and the fact that 8 weeks (and counting) have now elapsed. I also mention that my USC UK Visa renewal is required shortly. Would much rather spend that money in the US Economy.

Have you any ideas about what could be put in the contact which may be helpful? Always open to ideas and suggestions🙂

Both my husband and I sent in contact forms. We continued to get the same standard responses back. The most help we received was actually calling the Embassy. The guy explained that they were prioritizing students first as US universities start back in August. He was also quick to point out that although the USCIS letter says five weeks, the Embassy website says eight weeks for getting acknowledgment from the time your petition was approved. He also said that due to Covid they were behind and that’s why we hadn’t received anything after eight weeks. We did finally get our LND number this past Friday after 10.5 weeks. The number we called to actually speak to a live person was 0207 499 9000.

Your USC can request additional time to stay in the UK on home office website if need to stay after 31st August. Here is the link:  https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-uk-visa-applicants-and-temporary-uk-residents
That’s what I did to mine earlier this week, as my visa basically expired mid of August. I don’t know how long they will allow you to stay, but it should give you some time to sort things out and doesn’t charge additional visa fees.

Thanks for this.

The plain truth is I/we dont want to be in UK anymore. The sooner we can get out the better for us both. If push comes to shove we will ship my USC back to the States (which makes the i-864 and domicile situation easier)

I was aware of extensions, the UK Visa Forum we used back in 2017 was a wealth of info.

Its just a very frustrating situation which is had our lives on hold now for a number of months.

Thank you again for your info.🙂

I’m the USC and have been sending in the form. We are past 10 weeks. I sent another email to them last night advising as such.

In case this is relevant to anyone, the Embassy just released a bunch of interview slots for the mid through end of September. You do not need to have submitted the DS-260 to book the interview itself.

Good luck! You can also try to leave a comment on their facebook(US Embassy in London). Not a while ago, I asked a question there regarding to the visa application process, I actually got a reply from them.
