We have the medical set up for the 14th. We’ve been obsessively checking the visa appointment calendar. One finally popped in there yesterday but it was for this Thursday. Since my husband hasn’t had his medical exam yet and we’re still gathering financial documents, we couldn’t take that one. So we’re just keeping fingers crossed that more dates are added soon.

Sent another Contact Form enquiry today and received a reply within an hour or 2. It still didnt help but at least its a reply..........

When did you get your approval letter? We got ours on 9th June and received LND on 21st August (Letter was dated 19th August). If they’re only conducting interviews on Mondays and Thursdays, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, maybe they’re processing the petitions the other days of the week. Perhaps you’ll get yours in the mail this Friday?

Along with a few others here on VJ, we received Approval June 29 (8 weeks ago). At least some of those with the same Approval date have already received LND.

 

The real difficulty is not knowing. If there is something that needs doing at our end then let us know and we will get on it. Alternatively, has the letter been sent and we have not received it, lost in the post perhaps?

 

For those in the same position as us, the process seems rather shambolic.

We felt the same, but maybe take comfort in the fact that our petition approval was three weeks before yours and we just got our LND on Friday? Even if others got approved on the same day as you in June it seems like they are still processing them. The website says eight weeks to process and we spoke to someone at the consulate a couple weeks ago who told us they were prioritizing student visas first and then I-130s. In fact, he told us not to expect our LND until September at the earliest. Hopefully you’ll receive yours soon.

Its a bit of an eye opener if Student Visas are prioritised over visas which directly affect USC. Maybe thats indicative of the shambles unfolding.

The reason student visas were being prioritized was because universities in the US start back to school in August and because the embassy was closed for several months and couldn’t process them, they had a mass last minute push to get through the student visas in time for back to school.

Much against my nature, and as suggested previously, I have decided to contact the Embassy every day. Its not something I want to do but feel its all that is left😏
