If you are an American, then of course you can approach a Congressman. It will require paperwork to release your info to a third party (Congressional Office). It will depend on how willing their aide is to efficiently help and how well you explain exactly what you need asked. For example, if they ask simply for a status update, the reply can be “it is processing” which is no help.

Did anybody try to call that Department of State number and try to wrangle, beg, plead info out of them?

I got through to the embassy operator today, and she said no one in the IVU takes live calls. So beyond that, no idea where else to call. It sounds like email/online form is the only way to contact them.

I haven't had time ye!!t Between the time difference, working from home and having both kids on school holidays I barely have to time wee let alone wrangle someone on a long-distance phone call.  Will try this week!!

That is correct and has been for years. The IVU does not take phone calls.

People on VJ often say “call your embassy”. Waste of effort for London.

Guys, after 12 weeks I got an email with my LND number. I received it at 11:39am. No appointment availability showing up yet unfortunately.

Congratulations! What a weight off your shoulders. Hope an appointment will open up soon.

Fantastic. Still nothing on this end. Including a response from my email. <Sigh>

Quick question, did you keep sending the online form until they responded? Trying to figure out if i should keep bugging them until I get a response lol

10 weeks here too.  Hang in there!! Someday this will all just be a funny anecdote in the stories we tell about our marriages.

I have been doing it every other day, and I just got a message saying “Please be patient...” no joke.
