Why aren’t this people interviewing quizzing everybody in sight? My wife would be 😂
So, is the mail coming in daily? Why aren’t you sending out case numbers? Who does that job? Is everybody back to work? Are some furloughed? How many days a week do you have interviews? What do you do the other days?

Oh trust me, I would be as well.

I did finally get the 'auto reply' from my email from last Friday (it came in at 1am!). Of course, it is their normal auto reply with check the website blah blah blah. So I responded, again, to explain what I was emailing about. I'm giving this until Thursday then calling the number on the I-130 approval letter and/'or the number in their email. Sadly, hubby and I are not home this Friday/Saturday, so I was hoping to have this resolved (if possible) before then. <sigh>

Hey. I don't seem to have a number on my approval. Do you have a number for me? I think I need to start really pestering someone as we enter our 20th week waiting. 😆

Well, on the back of our letter it gives the contact form link or the number 44 0203 608 6998. No idea if that is just a general number or not. Hubby told me to call them today after the post comes if we don't get anything yet.

Thanks for that! Just called though and it isn't going to take us anywhere. You can press different numbers and have a recorded message read out to you about various forms etc but no human to be found.

I've definitely seen people on VJ saying they got through to someone at the embassy.  I do wonder if they just tried every option till they got through to a real person, though.

I'd be one of them trying every digit until someone answers. I'll try that this afternoon depending on the post. I hate that a simple little number is all that is keeping us from sorting out the rest of the visa. Sadly, I wish we had known we were going to want to go back so soon. We would have put in for an extension to be out of the country instead of turning hubby's green card over last year. (stupid hindsight being 2020).

How about contacting your US Political Representative? Maybe from your last address in USA, after all as a US citizen you are required to pay taxes on world wide earnings? Just a thought.

So, I called the number on the letter. Took a bit but got through to someone, but they don't deal with questions related to the visas. Only scheduling appointments etc. I then called the number in the auto reply email I got from the IVU overnight. I did finally get through to an operator, but according to her, the IVU does not take phone calls. So.... emailing/online form is the only way to try and communicate with the IVU.

Hopefully they will read my reply to their auto response and actually answer me. Fingers crossed.

Good on you for not giving up! But sorry it didn't have a better result.  Nothing in the post here today (or in my email so far).  Hoping someone here has good news soon!!

Yep, nothing in the post today for us either. I can only hope it is here in the next few days OR they actually read and respond properly to my email lol

They are required to report worldwide income, not required to pay taxes on it. There’s a tax treaty agreement.

Oh. Ok. I understand. However there surely must still be an avenue to approach a political representative? Perhaps this is the "nuclear option" but with so many waiting for what seems like extended periods, maybe thats what needs to be done. Treating USC and voters in the manner that is ongoing cant be a good thing.

If you are an American, then of course you can approach a Congressman. It will require paperwork to release your info to a third party (Congressional Office). It will depend on how willing their aide is to efficiently help and how well you explain exactly what you need asked. For example, if they ask simply for a status update, the reply can be “it is processing” which is no help.

Did anybody try to call that Department of State number and try to wrangle, beg, plead info out of them?
