Love how you’re still British. ‘You lot’. Wife always laughs at me for that saying.

Thats the thing, there is maybe a vague order to all this. But overall, not really. Luck of the draw at this point but ultimately, they’re all going to come through soon and in no specific order. Last of the DCF’s as I’m often quoting!

thanks for the advance advice. I have shot records, health summary - turns out I need MMR round 2 plus Tetnus (Turns our my Mum didn’t get me the second MMR?!). No trace confirmed (those nights I forgot, I was apparently well behaved) . Also one thing I’d say having done the DS260 last week is all your physical addresses since 16. that was the toughest part for me.

My Britishness is a mix now.
Yes,  just a vague order of approving. When I was going through K1, a bloke from Cambridge filed the exact same day as we did. We had a little Cambridge vs Oxford “race” going. We would run across each other during the various steps over the years. He got everything faster,  by months. The gap got bigger and bigger.  Then at naturalization, he didn’t file until a month after eligible and then had to get some document from the UK which ate up time. In the end, he still won, but our finishes  (citizenship) were only about a week apart.

I think you may be right there @Wuozopo.

We weren't expecting anything in the mail today, so didn't bother checking, but I glanced at my mail box on my way out of the house this evening and to my great surprise found an envelope from the US Embassy containing our LND number.

As stated above, our I-130 approval date was the 29th of June. Petition was physically mailed to the USCIS Field Office on the 16th of March (i.e. the week lockdown started). I know there are people in this thread who received their I-130 approvals before I did, and I sincerely hope that everyone else finds out about their LND numbers soon. I have a feeling there will be a few sent out this week.

When you looked at securing appointments for Medical and Interview, what was availability like? I guess August is all but filled up? What about September and beyond?

(After this long wait, I am assuming looking for appointments was uppermost in your mind😄 )

Frustrating? Yep. Agreed.

Just checked the Embassy website and this refers to the Contact Form.

"We aim to respond to visa inquiries within 5 working days of receipt.  If you have not had a response within 5 working days, please check your email provider’s “spam” folder, BEFORE resending a form.

Please note that if the answer to your inquiry is on our website, you will not receive a response."

Cant think of anything which would suggest an enquiry concerning LND could be considered to be in the info posted on the Embassy website.🤷‍♂️

I guess the reason for no response could be volume of work?

Pretty much. Online form was filled out back on July 31st. So I've passed the 5 days. But I sent an actual email to them last Friday as well. I'm sure they are busy, but it would be nice to have some clarity on how they are processing. But no, the question regarding LDN number isn't listed anywhere on their site, so sending the form is valid. :)

Unfortunately, there were no available Embassy interview dates when I just checked. I believe they only show you the current and next month. I'm sure dates for October will be released shortly. To book the Medical you need to call VIsamedicals directly - will try tomorrow and see what they say.

Good luck to you - I really hope yours comes through next week.

Wow. My guess is they are playing catch up with the NVC cases. Hopefully you can get the medical booked in. Still hoping for end of Sept for the medical for hubby when we can schedule it.

Thank you for yourkind and supportive words. Much appreciated.

I guess the next hurdle is getting medicals and interviews. At least that is something that can be controlled by the applicant.

Good luck🙂

Exactly this. The wait for the LDN is horrible because none of us can control it. Hubby and I hate that aspect. We have all documents that we can get until we have that dang number lol.

My understanding is that they suggest allowing 5 days for the medical to reach the embassy. Congrats on getting your LDN number. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. :)

Side question to others. I was reviewing the DS 260 form. It asks for our perm address for the US. We don't have one yet (clearly) since we aren't going to secure accommodations until after hubby gets approved. I have no issue putting my son's address down initially, but for the question on where the green card will be mailed, again, no idea until he gets approved. Can this part be done after approval or changed if I put my son's address in there as well?

this happened earlier in the week. I went on Tuesday and there were 3 days available with various slots through Aug. On Wednesday these vanished, on Thur they came back. I think check Monday its likely some will return.

I think this is not an uncommon scenario for DCF filers, where both the petitioner and beneficiary are living overseas. You should put your son's US address down initially for the purposes of the DS 260. You can then change your final address at the Point of Entry by informing the Border Patrol Officer.

I was just wondering, once the interview is done, aren't we supposed to go into some online site and pay the immigration fee., Wondered if an address can be provided at that time.
