Here's what it tells me. They received and allocated me an LND number the day after my I-130 was approved (16 Mar). Then the letter saying 'We've received A petition.....' arrives yesterday dated 9th July. It shows they were doing nothing with all this throughout Apr-Jun, but at least since 9th July they are working on this stuff.  Likely they were writing up the admin around 9th July to now then the mail room perhaps started operating very recently. Indicative that departments are catching up and opening in bits. I'm really hopeful we are going to have another LND received in this group today!

Thanks for passing on this information. It's also worth noting that (according to an e-mail from the USCIS Field Office) currently the Embassy Mail Room is open twice a week, so they aren't sending out letters daily. Hopefully more of us should start hearing soon regardless :)

This would make perfect sense. Especially with today being the last day the USCIS is open in London, they would have gotten any approved I-130s to the Embassy quickly. I know items stayed in the mail room forever to process, so the same may hold true on sending things out.

Looking at some of the other feeds on VJ, Its possible they are trying to clear the DCF first before opening up to NVC when more applications will come in. Realistically, since DCF is ending it would make practical sense to clear them out, and its not like there can be that many. That's just a theory though.

Good point! Might explain why the letter was dated so many weeks before receiving it. Then you also have Royal Mail to contend with....

Well, my post has come and no LND today...

Urghh.... It will come. And soon I am sure.

On another note I just booked the medical for 2 weeks today. They had a large availability of slots, I was pretty much able to choose what day and what time.

Oh great - what’s the recommendation for the time between the medical and your visa appt?

Nice! Our post hasn't shown up today , so fingers still crossed. I also sent in the online form yesterday to ask about the LDN. Will be curious if they respond to it. :)

I can't really complain... our approval came like (not counting lockdown) several weeks after yours so if they're working on them in chronological order, I still have a while to wait.  Although that logic doesn't explain why @Cauldron is still waiting.  I think sometimes it's luck of the draw with who picks up your case 🤷‍♀️

I think if one of the others who have been waiting since March gets theirs soon it will be pretty indicative of chronological order. As you say, was probably luck of the draw, or delayed post etc.

I actually am not sure. I think I read somewhere dont leave it less than a week. So I did 8 working days. Ideally I didn't want it this soon as then you have 6 months to fly on it which in the present climate isn't ideal and we're not planning on going until first half of next year, but thought better not take the chance. If something later comes up on the consulate appointment I may go for that.

I had heard to make sure to give the medical at least a week to get sent to the embassy (read it takes about 5 days to get there). Hubby and I hope to do his medical end of Sept with his interview maybe 2-3 weeks after that, depending on availability.

It’s covered on the embassy website in the Immigrant visa instructions. There’s info about vaccinations,  what to bring to the appointment, and the medical questionnaire to fill out.

Was just reading through another one of the forums here, and someone had mentioned an injunction regarding the DOS and the public charge. I did some digging and found this article which was interesting.

https://www.law360.com/articles/1296687

This is the part of the article that I found interesting: In a second Wednesday ruling, Judge Daniels also temporarily barred the U.S. Department of State from applying the public charge criteria to green card applicants abroad, after advocacy groups challenged those restrictions in December.

I wonder if that is why they've not been asking for the form as they knew a case had been brought in front of the courts? The actual court case is: Make the Road New York v. Pompeo

Our i-130 Approval was March 29th. With this in mind, (he said, clutching at straws!) if the first week of reopening took us to March 16 approvals, then, perhaps, March 29th approvals will be out by  mid or end August?:):):).........as I said , Straw! Clutch! hey ho...........

Lets hope the Post Room begins to open more frequently.:):):)

Tomorrow is the start of a new week which will be full of anticipation and, for some at least, a very positive, successful and potentially life changing week. Good luck everyone.

I'm on week 7. I did fill out their online form but no idea how fast they will respond (if at all) to it.

Did they send you a bunch of questions(name, petition approval date etc) after you filled out the online form?
