Is there a tumbleweed emoji?

I saw someone on one of the UK threads say they called the embassy and were told they are only working on student visas for the next 3 weeks, although as @Wuozopo rightly pointed out, student visas are non-immigrant so that doesn't necessarily mean no immigrant visas are being processed.  But I suppose only time will tell.

I've pushed my best-case-scenario to October half-term in my head, but who really knows?  It was always a waiting game I guess, I'm just finding it hard to stay present in our current lives while trying to plan for our future one.  Hope you're all hanging in there and still staying positive.

Out of interest, did you hear back from the Immigrant Visa Unit when you contacted them via the website contact form regarding an expedite? I've seen reports of a couple of NVC filers who have had expedited interviews over the past few weeks for circumstances not dissimilar to yours. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Nope.  I did wonder if I should try again since the embassy is "open" now.  But I guess those people at NVC are DQ, meaning they already completed all the forms and collected all their evidence so all they need is their interview.  Although having said that, it's not really our fault we have't done the DS-260 because we can't access it without the LND.  Vicious circle!

Thanks for asking, and for the well-wishes.

Side question. Does anyone have current break down of the fees that are needed after the I-130 approval? I've been hunting around (trying to put together a listing of everything we need while waiting for the dumb LDN number).

Credit to the the ever-knowledgeable @Wuozopo for the information below. After paying the $535 filing fee to the USCIS Field Office, these are the following charges for DCF filers:

1. £55 for the police certificate

2. £350 for the medical

3. $325 visa fee (Paid to the Embassy cashier on the day of interview)

4. $30 for home delivery via Courier or 0$ for pick up at the depot

5. $220 USCIS Immigrant fee after you have the visa in hand.

Speaking of expedited appointment request, I’m on day 29 still waiting for an answer after they acknowledged my request in email. My I130 got approved on June 9th at USCIS London.  I only emailed once about two weeks ago for an update, still nothing.

Thanks for the information. Wow the medical fee has increased from the last one I saw and in pounds no less. For the Immigrant fee, you say when it is in hand. Do we go to a website to pay this?

Agree with your point about trying to get organised eg leaving a job, selling the car, arranging removals, selling property etc. Its very very difficult. We put our house uo fir sale last Tuesday. An acceptable Formal Offer was received on Thursday. The proposed and agreed move date is Aug 24th😳 Thankfully we have somewhere to go to.

Hurry up.......and stand still.

Oh do I know that statement well (Hurry up etc). Between doing the spouse visa to come to the UK last year and now going in the reverse, that has been my life for the last few years. Will be glad to be back in the states and no longer doing an application for anything lol

I had the same conversation with my wife the other day. I said "I should have married A Brit!"

Yes absolutely.... All those trips back and forth to LAX, the charms of UK immigration, US immigration, having to keep unblocking the drains as we dont have garbage disposal, yet all the food still ends up in the sink!.... (Sorry guys!)

We've been lucky. Hubby first came to the US on a K1 visa back in 2008 and then we moved to the UK last year only to now work on moving back. Thankfully we were only apart for maybe 6-8 months total over that entire timeframe.
