Is the reason known for the delay in issuing LDN? Is it a backlog of work? Isnt the Embassy staff all back at work? Or maybe the reason is the interviews are backing up and by delaying issue of LDN the backlog can be dealt with?

Curious.

Honestly, have no idea. I don't know what they have been doing all this time at all and I try not to think about it because otherwiseeeeeee it makes me way to angry!

Me neither - it's now 8 weeks since my letter and I've basically emailed them every day about it. The first day, I got a response similar to others and now I'm just emailing every morning :)

I know the situation is far from ideal right now, and I don't mean this as a criticism of you at all; however, I don't think e-mailing every day is going to help matters. I would discount any of the weeks that followed after lockdown was initiated (i.e. from the second week of March onwards) and would not count these towards your timeline. On the upside, because your I-130 was approved just before the lockdown, you should be one of the first people to receive their LND numbers amongst the group of us who filed via DCF before the USCIS Office stopped accepting petitions.

Interesting comments which, in some, show the frustration being experienced by many.

I am sure there is good reason for the delay be it resources or logistics. Of course, maybe this delay is normal and how it is/was during "normal" times?

Good luck everyone and enjoy the weekend🙂

I dont think it was ever delayed like this. I suspect its a mixture of things. Perhaps the IVU simply is still working on reduced staff as they are not issuing visas so see no point. Also the mail room may not be easily accessible in the Embassy for Covid safety reasons. It really could be anything.

I'd hold off. Mines been about 17 weeks now and I emailed once and didn't see the point afterwards. If anything it could delay the process even more as somebody needs to sift through those 56 Emails! Its frustrating I know, but we're all in the same boat (different circumstances of course) and just need to wait it out and be patient. There's enough of us in this feed that something will eventually happen and we'll all know things are beginning to move.

Indeed. Looking at previous DCF London timelines (from 2019) it looks like the wait time between I-130 approval and receiving a LND number was around 2 weeks, give or take. However, the situation has completely changed now in the post-Covid era. Another factor to consider is the fact that Embassy staff may currently be furloughed, which would mean fewer people to process cases.

"Around 2 weeks"! Wow. That wouldnt do at all. Think of all the questions and conversations that would be missed😂

I just had a look at my own time measurement. Given Lockdown I didnt expect to hear anything before July 9th. As it happened, we heard June 29th. On that basis we are a week ahead of schedule😊

Thats a great find, thanks for the update.

I am also starting week 17 of not hearing anything since my I-130 approval, so hopefully in the coming weeks we will get some info. As I'm sure others will do, Ill post in here as soon as I hear anything.

My wife is the opposite of patience so it balances us out!

I just came across this on Twitter, fingers crossed this means the UK too 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

This has been floating around for past two days now. Certainly shows some optimism that things may begin moving. I think the key is 'local conditions' so I think London could possibly be delayed a bit further particularly with interview scheduling but hopefully things may start moving on the LND numbers we're all waiting for. It would be nice to at least complete the DS-260 with all this waiting around....  could be put to good use.

This is what we are hoping for. Hubby's social security statement and police certificate should arrive this week. We are working to get the IRS transcript for this year sent as well. But we can't move anything else on the visa until we get our blasted LDN number lol.

For me it's just the medical history and vaccination records. I cant seem to get anything useful out of my GP right now - As in they dont respond to Email and dont want me visiting! But I think that's going to have to be done soon.... Police certificate was real quick for me. Took a week.

We had to request it in writing and post it to the surgery.  They were relatively quick to back to us, even during lockdown.
