Reading elsewhere, it seems it is accurate that Embassies are reopening (I presume this includes London?) however they are only providing services for US Citizens.......does a DCF Spouse visa fall in to that category? Lets hope so.

This page on their website lists the  US Citizen Services https://uk.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/

FYI... just received notification from my credit card that payment for the I-130 has been charged. So they are starting to move. :)

R n K,

Thats great news. Good to see you are moving along.

Funny, due to the apparent lack of movement, I was looking for a Tumbleweed gif.😂

Good luck.

Our credit card was charged today too! Finally some momentum :)

Yay!!! So there must be someone at USCIS working now! Here's hoping we all have good results soon!

Thanks for letting us know!

Got our I-130 approval letter today!!!!  Was expecting an electronic notification so it totally caught me by surprise to get it in the post!

I think I'm equal parts relieved, excited and nervous.

It says "Under normal circumstances, in approximately five (5) weeks, you should receive a letter from the U.S. Consulate - Immigrant Visa Unit advising the beneficiary that an approved petition has been received in their name and of the case number accorded to their application."  I think I will take the advice I was given earlier and contact the embassy on Monday or Tuesday and to see if I can get a LND number sooner than 5 weeks.

Fantastic news The4Sands! Very happy for you! Out of interest, what was the date on the letter? They must have literally opened up your envelope the day they got back and approved your petition now that you'd supplied them with the outstanding document. Do you have all of your other supporting documents ready?

Congrats. Good to see someone getting along the road. I guess receiving a letter may well throw you a bit. When did you submit your i-130 to DCF London? Our email stating "correctly filed" was received on March 5th which now seems like a lifetime ago. No word since receiving that email.

Perhaps now you can get a tad more control of the process and start proactivity.

Good luck.

That is great to hear! So happy for you. Keep us posted if they provide you with the LND number if you call. I'll be curious.

Anyone who has payment done this week, have you gotten the email receipt for it yet? The payment did post to our credit card. Not sure how much of a 'lag' time there is between payment posting and getting the email receipt. :)

No e-mail yet. However, based on previous peoples' experiences, it looks like the date that payment is actually taken is your filing date (i.e. NOA1). However, we are in a bit of an unusual situation since we received e-mails from London Field Office on the 19th of May confirming that they've received the petition but couldn't take the payment, so I'm not 100% sure what our filing date is!

Nonetheless, in their last e-mail they said they were confident they would adjudicate all petitions before the office closes down at the end of July. Therefore, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a decision within a month (may be wishful thinking)...

Very true. And I'm sure that will be the case. I just know the email from May said they would send an email receipt once payment was taken and that that email would include the anticipated 'adjudication ' date lol. I'm over the moon payment has been taken, just wish I could follow more of the process. (yes, bit of a control freak on these things). :)

Thanks! The approval date on the letter was 9th June, so I'm quite pleased it came in the post so quickly.  These days the post is a bit hit and miss.

Do I have all of my docs?  No, but we're getting there.

We have

  • His medical records, including vaccinations
  • His passport photographs x4
  • His passport
  • Our original marriage certificate
  • More of his passport photos x2
  • His police certificate +SAR (just in case)
  • His UK birth certificate
  • My I-864 supporting documents:
    • Tax returns for the last two years and letter explaining why I didn't need to file in 2017 (no transcripts from the IRS right now 🙄)
    • Copy of my passport photo page
    • Domicile docs (US bank statements, US credit card statements, job applications and emails around interviews and such, emails to schools about places for the kids; I plan to tell my boss next week that I'm leaving, so can have a letter of resignation and the same with the landlady, but I probably need more on this front but not sure what else I can do without a trip back to the States).

What I still need:

  • Can me and the joint sponsor start filling out the I-864 already?  I wasn't sure if that needed to wait till I have my case number.
  • Joint sponsor's I-864 supporting documents:
    • Joint sponsor's IRS tax transcripts (I just realised I think he only sent me the ones for the last year 😱 Do I really need 3 years?)
    • Copy of joint sponsor's US passport photo page
  • His DS-260 (which he obviously can't do without the case number)
  • Maybe his DS-5540?

Am I missing anything huge?  I probably am, but we'll get there.

Looks good! You can definitely start filling out form I-864. For your joint sponsor I've read that it's a good idea to provide evidence of current income in the form of recent payslips (e.g. 6 months worth) and a letter from his/her employer confirming the nature of their employment.

One thing to bear in mind for the GP Summary Care Record is that if there are any significant medical conditions listed under "active problems" then your husband would need a brief letter from his GP explaining the nature of the condition and any treatments. Not sure if this applies to him or not.

In terms of tax transcripts, it sounds like people have been okay with the most recent year, but I was planning on bringing 3 years' worth just in case.
