Curious. To those who have reached out to their congressmen (and gotten a reply from them) what did you ask them? Or how did you word your inquiry for assistance? I think our mail has come and gone today (nothing at all postwise) so I'm thinking of reaching out to ours at this point. We hit 10 weeks this coming Tuesday and I'm getting beyond frustrated.

Hey, I got a reply from my wife’s congressman after I got my LND... see below. Not very helpful!

Thank you for your email on behalf of Congressman Schiff's constituent, Mrs ###, regarding her husband's immigration application.

As Mr. ###’s petition appears to be filed locally, we understand that our colleagues in the Immigrant Visa Unit will be in contact in due course as the US Embassy in London continues a phased resumption of visa services from the 27th of July.   Given the situation, there is a backlog but they aim to process cases as soon as practicable.  We’d advise the constituent to please also continue to check https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas111 for any further updates to services.

We hope this is helpful in responding to your constituent.

Sincerely,

Thanks. I want to reach out, but I have no idea what to say to them. We are past the expected time to get our LND number. I just want to get us in and approved so I can start applying for a job back in the US :( Feeling quite down and hopeless on it all at the moment.

I understand your frustrations, stress and hopelessness. I too have very similar days. Apart from just stickin it out what can we do?

Looking at the response to/from Congressman, it doesnt seem there is much option🤷‍♂️

I completely understand your frustration and hopelessness. Just keep at it, keep messaging and bugging them - I feel that personally worked for me. You will get your LND, and start moving.

Do you actually have a file in the system? I mean if your cases arrived from London USCIS office but have not been given a case number and entered into the system, then is there anything to look up?  Can you log on to CEAC and see your status?

Everything??

I have been told by an experienced immigration attorney that USCIS cross referenced all petitions filed for X beneficiary, so I assume there is a cloud based filed.

And I apologize, I meant everything has resumed in the sense that Pre-Covid, the economy and offices are running again, so why isn’t the embassy.

I didn’t think things were back to pre-COVID.
In my family in Oxfordshire:

Daughter- not back to work yet. On unemployment.

Son- working from home

Sister- let go

Brother in law- working from home

Brother- working from home, except one day a week in office.

The embassy is running again, but the whole crew is not back in the building everyday, much like my family members are not back in their pre-COVID routine.

I guess it’s area specific then. I have family in Manchester and my spouse is also in Manchester, who have said people are back to working in offices and life has pretty much resumed again. So, I assumed that was the case elsewhere too.

In NY and I’m back at the office. I work in law and we are back to filing, handling court appearances (virtually), etc., so really makes me wonder why the process only slows down when it comes to immigration. As all other areas of law have resumed it seems.

Managed to bag an appointment on 9th Sept - was online last night at like 12:45am so had a check and it popped up! It must have been the one you cancelled @DCB 😂

Sorry, was trying to find the thread on this. We’ve been trying to schedule a visa interview appointment online but keep getting “no appointments available” message. I have been checking periodically to see if one opens up. Is this what you did as well to get your appointment booked? Had you previously been getting the “no appointments available” message as well?

Yep. They may release more tomorrow or early next week. Just keep checking! I do it on my phone :)

It does seem that they come up rather sporadically though - I was refreshing between my phone and computer every so often for days. When I finally had one come up, there was only one day and time available, then after I booked it and went back in 9 minutes later, there was another (much sooner) available appointment available. I'd stay check it as often as you can, but don't lose hope - one will appear sooner or later. My appointment is tomorrow morning 😮
