Can I go back to my home country for 5 months after submiting N400?

I submit N400 on Dec 2019 with I 751 pending, and  will have biometrics  on January 21 2020.

 

I want to go back to my home country China for 5 months. I only leave for China for 5 months after I got my 2 year green card in March 2017.

 

Is there any risk? Please give some advice, thanks!

Theoretically, a visit shorter than 6 months doesn't break continuous residence. Regardless, you should be able to prove that during the visit you maintained ties to the USA - e.g. accommodation, finances, employment (some examples) - and that throughout the duration of the visit the USA remained continued your primary residence. 

 

And also you should pay attention to around what month people in your field office district generally get interviews.

I see your question has been answered.....but it begs to question why you got the green card in the first place.

Being an LPR means living and working (if you choose to work) in the United States....not fly back to your home country for months on end as though you are simply visiting the US.

Now that you have applied for Citizenship, you will have to divulge the length of time that you will be staying outside of the US when you have your N400 interview with the officer.
